Beach 1 - 1 East

A very good game to watch out at West Beach today. East really looked up for the challenge and really shoudl have won the contest. Beach looked very much second rate and East dominated much of the play. East scored on a counter with a neat finish from Danny Reek in the second half with about 10-15 to go. Then East conceded an incedibly unlucky OG with five to go. Really lucky for Beach as they really didnt look like scoring any other way....

From a neutral's perspective of course.....

Munno Para 2 vs Vikings 2

Was a good clean match with Vikings getting off to a hot start going 2 up inside about 10 minutes. Had a chance or two to make it 3 to the good but did not take their chances. After that MP got one back before half time and were starting to work their way back into the game. Second half saw munno para take the game to Vikings and got a hold of the midfield. The equaliser came with about 10 minutes to go. Vikings were hanging on for the lives and their keeper make a good save right on full time to keep the scores level.

Oh, and with a recent topic in mind... the referee today was the best I have seen this year. Probably only made the one wrong decision which was for a throw-in. Allowed both teams to play and let the game flow.

Reserves 1 - 3 (I think)

A's

Fulham 4 - Lion 0

Just continuing the momentum we have had the past few weeks - solid result in what was a danger game because playing the bottom team we could have dropped off but we certainly didn't.

B's

Fulham 3 - Lion 2

C's

Fulham 3 - Lion 1

I also thought the referee in our game today was very good.

para ressies ended up losing 4-3. in the first team we made a woeful start and were two down in the first 5 mins! we didnt really look in it at all in the first half but after a bollocking at half time we came out and took the game to the top side. how the keeper got a hand to my shot at the end of the game i dont know! will take a point against top team after being 2-0 down

DOWNS go top again in tight fought battle.

Gardens had the upper hand in the first half going in at 2-1 up.

Downs steadied in the second half but it was an own goal from a corner that saw them draw level.

Then Gardens seemed to run out of some steam halfway through the second half and their defences attention was rattled by the sideline pressure.

Then it was the big man Reeves who side stepped them all to plant it fairly and squarely in the net from 1 yard.

Not bad for the big fella. 2 games and 4 goals!

Great game of soccer with plenty of opportunities at both ends.
Good crowd turnout for the cold weather.

Under 6 game during the A's and B's was a one sided affair to the Gold and Blacks but fun was had by all as the support for the kids on the temporary sidelines was fantastic.

Still waiting for the san marco v grove score.
It looks like 5 points is going to separate fourth from bottom! Some very intense games coming up for everyone!

good analysis.

After our start, you could have been wolloped, but full credit, Munno Para a are bunch of fighters that are willing to work, and they did. Can't help but feel that you guys don't get enough credit.

well done.

great game down at MP today and both teams could argue they could have walked away with the points. a very rough start from the para lads could have opened up to a wholloping but they pulled their heads in and fought their way back into the game and i think dominated most of the second half against a strong opposition. well done to both teams though in a good game.

i told him he should have caught it  i think vikings were lucky to come out of it with a point. after going 2-0 up is was downhill all the way. there were a few good passages of play from the vikings, but to no avail. on the other had Para looked like they wanted to win every ball. and most of them they did. i guess disappointing from both sides of the fence on dropping points. but full credit to para for making a game of it after a disastrous start

great game today with gardens and downs... played fair and hard.. Only dissapointing thing was the song afterwards. The only thing worse then sore losers is sore winners. I thought the downs had changed and was suppose to be a family club. I doubt you would approve of your juniors singing that song.
