you have a foes list?...How childish you are, is it so you can keep track of who makes you angry, so you don't accidently agree with them on something?Green Grass Rovers wrote:Why do you even respond to the guy. I put him on my foes list ages ago.

that relates back to the point of the original post - even if it's generalised, stereotypical or even incorrect, it generates a response! People react to it immediately...God is an Englishman wrote:chokers: it generally takes penalties to knock us outLitmanen wrote:England - big tournament chokers, attacking players, too many long balls, average keepers
average keepers: clemence, shilton, seaman (well you did say 30 years)
the Italians have done the same thing on here in regards to the diving theory!

not sure how England can be chokers. To be given the chokers tag there has to be expectation of winning and outside of England, no one rates them until the recent signing of Capello

[quote="Reggina10Cozza"]no its because you are closet racists. You use the protection of your computer screens to vent your racist prejudice. In this case and especially on this forum it is directed at Italians; why? because the Italians have great success, and unlike Brazil or Germany who would respect, you all still view Italians as beneath you. And any Italian success makes your feel demeaned because its a race you feel superior too. You are disgusting, seriously people think racism and prejudice is better now in this country, however by means of online forums we see true colours. I am a proud Australian and my heart is with Australia, however if Italy play Australia again, I will support Italy because supporting Australia over Italy for me would be siding with typical racist mentalities. The saddest thing is members of this highly racist Australian community have little remorse and guilt for their attititudes, attitudes which are present among genocidal perpetrators in our world. You have no care that your culture based superiorority rants sound similar to mentalities of perpetrators in war torn countries who have wiped out complete segments of there country because of ignorant superiority based beliefs born on jelousy.[/quote
a concept i have never been able to grasp is why people refuse to leave their bigotted and bias views back in their home countries. another concept i never will grasp is how people who are born here still try to uphold their forefather's bigotted beliefs instead of realising that they are in australia because their parents/grandparents made the obvious decision that their futures would be much brighter here. then atleast we wouldn't have blokes like yourself making the outrageously insulting above mentioned comparisson.
ps. hawkesy got absolutely whooped in that discussion, great work translater

I would just like to say while this is an emotional post, that it is directed at the Italian team, and no one on this forum, so don't take it as a personal attack, but in my eyes,
the more Italy win the way they do, the more the world game suffers, Diving alone is my biggest hatred of the game, and it seems to me that they are biggest offenders of it.
I am happy to be proven wrong on this point. As much as i appreciate the extreme passion Italian people have for the game, and even more so how much Italians have built the game in Australia, i still think the on field antics are disgusting, and FIFA should do something about Diving and time wasting, it is really time for them to step up and do something.
If you're happy to be proven wrong, I'll do it. How anyone can seriously say Italians, or any European soccer nation, are bigger divers than South Americans is beyond me. How many years did we put up with Australia playing South American sides to try and qualify for the World Cup, and see them constantly roll around whenever tackled?
I was also not happy in 2006 when Grosso or whoever it was went down after Neill's challenge, but it was not a theatrical dive, there was contact, and any country including Australia would have tried it in the same situation. It's the refs choice to give the penalty, not the player's and if you say an Aussie wouldn't have gone down like that, you're dreaming.
If you didn't see it, look on You Tube and check out the world's worst dive ever by Rivaldo in the Brazil vs Turkey semi final in the 2002 World Cup. Looked like he got shot in the head, and the Turkish player got a red for it.
Worst divers argument over.Nope sorry, wrong again....sweeping generalisation largely unfounded. Could name many different countries from all parts of the globe accused of adverse tactics - diving, tackles, negative play - in different decades dating back to WW2In my opinion the incident between Neill and Grosso while hearbreaking was Neill's fault. Grosso played for it, but there was contact, so while i still think any honorable player would have kept running i can see why he went down, at the end of the day, it's the mindset that the whole team plays by, it's not a once off Klinsmann, it's the whole shiraz team..Objection, more generalisations, Your Honour......every team has complainers and hard tacklersIt's situations where players like Gilardino, and Totti roll around and complain at one end, and then Materazzi is tackling studs up, pulling shirts and elbowing that i'm talking about.Personally I think the Rivaldo incident alone justifies my comparison - and my claim all teams do it. Not sure why Brazilians are lauded as the best because the score flamboyant goals. Defence is as much a part of good soccer as attack, and Brazil are certainly no example of the best defences. Some people like Brazilian technique, others the Dutch, others the Italians, some the English. A soccer purist would admire elements of all professional styles, not denegrate Italian football because it can be defensive by nature. No more happens behind play in an Italian game than in any other, and much more leniancy is shown by say English referees for tackles than in the Serie A.Personally i don't think you can compare the positive football teams like Brazil play compared to the negative sneaky game that Italy play. I guess it's more than just diving. From time wasting, dirty fouls, complaining, the Italians do more when the ball is out than when it is in.Ugly, negative, dirty.......*sigh*The diving tag is probably not what i was trying to say ( well it is what i said... retrospectively i was thinking something else..), it's the ugly/negative/dirty game they play ( which is a real disappointment for me, because one the ball the Italians are excellent to watch, i won't be writing them off for the WC by a long shot just yet).
Looking at the world game right now, i'd say the Dutch and Italians are the worst when it comes to diving, but again the Dutch with the exception of Van Bommel are no way near as dirty.

truthfully though, I've got nothing against any race, but if the Aussie government is favouring UK over other nations, then it stinks of the White Australia policy of the 60's.
Personally believe migrants from poorer countries are harder working.

I can only presume they feel that the English would settle better than some other nationalities. Maybe they also feel that the skills they are looking for are more prevelant in the English as well.Translator wrote:everyone has their own special "talents"God is an Englishman wrote:Translator wrote:Just wrong, that's all we need more people like Hawkesy living over here

Another reason could be that it's about positive marketing, they are going to market to the people with the most chance of actually taking up the offer. Where would you be better off marketing your umbrella company? London or Alice Springs?

personally i don't feel the brits are being favoured. i have a frind in the police force who has been telling me of the many frustrated british coppers that have been brought over here with promises of better lives and better money only to find when they arrive that they have to start at the bottom and on the beat, at the back of the queue. eg. one bloke was an experienced diver in england and promised a training role over here. six months on he is still doing alternate shifts on the beat for about 20k a year less. the government is not racist it screws everyone of us equally.

I was talking about this with someone the other day actually. We did think that the British old bill were getting fast tracked though. The same goes for interstate cops, if they move interstate they have to start at the bottom.kinghenrik wrote:personally i don't feel the brits are being favoured. i have a frind in the police force who has been telling me of the many frustrated british coppers that have been brought over here with promises of better lives and better money only to find when they arrive that they have to start at the bottom and on the beat, at the back of the queue. eg. one bloke was an experienced diver in england and promised a training role over here. six months on he is still doing alternate shifts on the beat for about 20k a year less. the government is not racist it screws everyone of us equally.
