i am not fair, and i wasnt close enough to judge whether it was inside or outside the box. were you? just curious. i was happy to claim the spot kick anyways :)
it would have been harsh, yes, but i do think we nudged MP on chances for the game.
I spoke with the ref after the game and to be honest i would hate to do there job. he has to make a split second decision and it was bloody close to the line either way. We have had plenty go against us this year, so possibly a slice of luck? who knows.....

yeah, I was close enough to tell you the foul occured outside the box... and to be fair to the ref he does only have a split second to make a decision. But in saying that, a quick glance to see where the defender was when he took down the player he would have clearly seen where the foul occured.

A slice of luck, I would agree. And as I mentioned before, a point each was probably the fair result.

gardens devastated to lose to the farm yesterday, was a very tight game , both teams couldnt take there chances and was looking like 0-0 draw, gardens were having a fair bit of play late in the 2nd half but farm snuck up hill and got the winner, hard one to swallow but well done to the farm lads, not much between these 2 teams, good game,

I'll do a quick write up tomorrow as I'm busy as always on a Monday. Plus I really didn't see much of the A's and B's.

From what I did see, Gardens had a bit more of the ball but had it in attack more than we did. We struggled to get it into the 18 yard box. Big Chris Ennis showed why he won player of the year last season and Robbie Greenwood showed why he is still the best keeper in the Amateur league.

Gardens certainly deserved at least a point from that game but we have had a few games like that this year where we feel we deserved more than we got. Gardens are much better from last season. Mo's brother is lighting, their striker from Para Hills is lighting also. He and Taylor upfront would of made an excellent strike combination.

Matty Peace was sent off for kicking either Rick or Torsten after they conceeded the goal. Not sure if he will get 3 or more games. Maybe one extra but it depends on what the ref thought of it. I didn't see it so can't really comment.

Cheers to the Gardens boys for hanging around for a drink after the game. We were pleasently surprised with how much food and drink they bought also as they have a reputation for bringing their own but must give credit to them yesterday, they certainly supported the BBQ and Bar.

Hey Vista09 don't you boys want to be paid, ever since you beat San Marco you have been stuck on 4 wins or has the offer of 5 wins been taken of the table??
Seem to have hit a purple patch, still playing well though, just hit the track hard this week and turn it around!

The referee admitted that he made a mistake after the game to one of MP players as well as our linesman. saying i hope you realise that sometimes we make mistakes

I think we all understand that ref's are human & make mistakes, but how can a ref turn around after a game & say that he made a mistake? There's no replay for him to look at so if he wasn't sure then why didn't he confer with his linesman?

Either way, whats done is done & hope that come seasons end we are not relegated by 2pts.

Eddie from the Vale has been replaced by Louie from Florina as the worst ressies ref ever. There are bad refs and there are cheats Louie fits into both catagories. Florina will never gain respect as a club so long as this standard continues.

I didnt see the C team game so I wont comment but apparently the same standard was acheived.

The main game had only one official linesman so the ref used our club linesman, even though it was an away game for us. When I asked the reason he used our linesman the answer was he watched the substandard effort from the ressies game.

I would suggest to the Prez and commitee of Florina to lift your standards in this regard so your club can move on to become a real force in the league rather than be gifted games.

Oh and let Louie know that his position when a penalty is taken should be in the penalty box rather than 5 yards from the half way line, behind a wall of players.

300 supporters and 1 bin makes for a lot of mess alm1. perhaps a few more would help. Dont worry we get the same rubbish dumped at our ground too, as do most. The realist you need to get real, have you been to any concert or footy match lately, same thing, north or south of Gepps X. i was recently in Byron Bay for Bluesfest and there was rubbish everywhere and not a Northener in sight.

1 bin for 300 supporters, yet why is rubbish left on the other side of the pitch?? :?

If lack of bins is the problem then why isn't the mess 'around' the bin?

And because people are feral at concerts/footy matches that makes it ok for you to be a pig too???

There would have been northerners at Bluesfest, we know them as Queenslanders!

Realist, happens at every game mate. And when the two bins i seen were full at the end of the C game, what do you expect people to do. Maybe you guys should come round and empty the bins throughout the game. Just a thought...

Anyways, sounds to me like you are looking for something to throw at the Downs cos they convincingly beat you 3v0.....

anyways enough of this rubbish  back to football. the farm A's got up one nil with a late winner from skipper chrissy ennis and to be perfectly honest, we stole it. imo the game appeared quite scrappy and destined to end nil all. in saying that i will admit that gardens did look the more dangerous team when attacking due to their blistering pace up front. we started to push for it in the second half and it eventually led to a scrappy, but extremely vital goal for the farm. peacy did his team no favours by getting sent off for an unprovoked trip on toasty rutter directly after the goal was scored. i dont think 3 games is necessary as the act wasn't really vicious but incredibly stupid as the ref was right there. i reckon leaving his team to fight for an equaliser with 10 men and missing next week will be more than sufficient. well done to the boys for a huge win and certainly putting us back in the title race.

the rezzies was another tough encounter with a team that consistently proves to be one of our hardest opponents. we got up 3-2 with all goals being scored in the first half. special mention to the outlaw for notching up another brace and coming oh so close to achieving the ever elusive hatrick :) . we didnt play anyway near what we can and were glad when the whistle went. on the incident involving young chrissy at the end of the game, the gardens defender had no intention of going for the ball and he was certainly the last man. the refs decision to only book him almost started an on field riot. he's only a young lad and many of our boys were keen to seek retribution but as we were up 3-2 and a vital clash against the downs next week i did my best to deflate things. i know people will say age means nothing but this young fella copped a bit of treatment and was clearly in pain but bravely stayed on as we had no more subs. well done chrissy and well done to the boys for holding ya heads and turning the season around. cheers to gardens for a hard contest.

Live to dream henrik, one day it will come  i hope. As for the match have to say the team didn't play as well as we should and could have and were indeed lucky to come away with 3 points after shooting ourselves in the foot...... twice. As for the incident with Chris i completely agree that it was a rough tackle and at the end of the day the last man should have gone but didn't. Good to see although there was a bit of Argy Bargy neither team did anything silly to warrant seeing the Red Raffle Ticket. I will try and get the match report in tonight if im not too busy watching the City v Jets game. We certainly wish Gardens all the best for the rest of the season and here is to hoping you take a few points off many other sides as I don't beleive your league position justifies the team you have.

Firstly, i never said im a florina man, secondly i live past gepps x & know what theyre all like out that way. Third, why couldnt u ask the ground staff to empty the bins to minimalise the mess? No, you'd rather try to justify your actions. Clubs should be working together as its the juniors who see you doing this. They themselves will carry on the filth for generations to come. IMO

Perhaps Matt can enlighten everybody as to what happend?? I was standing about 20 yards away when it happened and think it should be 2-3 matches.

Just a quick one to thank the Gardens ressies for a solid but fair game, a few heads were left scratched after young Chris Brooker was brought down by the last man and no card shown. Great goal by Mal from the freekick but Keeper should have at least got a hand to it. Well done to Graham Elrich grabbing another vital goal in our title race.[/quote]

He fractured his collar bone from that tackle. Out for the rest of the year

I was born in Elizabeth, grew up in Salisbury East and now live in Forestville. I never had any problems up north. If you dont go down there often, how would you know what its like.

Have you been to Christies or Norlunga lately, much more likely to be attacked their than Elizbeff.

Jay you may need to read my post again.
I dont care if you're more likely to be attacked down south as it is irrelevant to my point, which is, clean up after yourselves!
Out north it seems to be dog eat dog.
You go west & they share their land & ideas.
B27 is a prime example.
Why would they let somebody who trashes the field with rubbish use their land :?:
More to the point...
Would you like your club treated this way :?:

Im guessing no.

THAT is the point I'm trying to make.
