Well I will tell you the prices invloved, a tent for two with tix for two plus breakfasts and tranport to games (no flights to South Africa) was 5,395 each for me and my son , so over 10K for the both of us, the cheap hotel version was 6,400 each ... Security was the overriding factor, moreso as my son is coming and my wife would not consider other options, plus the guarantee of tix...

I spent the last world cup camping in the middle of Germany on an air mattress for two weeks... so no biggie

Looking forward to the atmoshpere of Fanatics HQ ...

They tell me Durban is the Gold Coast of South Africa, so quite looking forward to it as well ...

ps the Tent has a proper bed in it... none of that sleeping on the floor stuff...

pps thanks to Mr X for calling the Povman a high flier... it makes me walk tall

Will be joining u in Durban Povman. My deciding factors were namely the fair cost of the tour, security, and also the close proximity of the stadium where 5 group games will be played, only 1.5 km away. Don't know about anyone else but i'll be enjoying everything South Africa has to offer. All I need is a place to sleep, I'm not at all worried about sipping champagne in a nice hotel. Only 52 weeks to go....

Am looking to sell Cat 1 tickets (3 of) to all of Australias group games (9 tickets in total).

Got lucky in the Fifa ballot but have booked to go on the Fanatics tour where tickets are included in the price, so no longer require the tickets.

Get in contact with me if interested.

Timing is everything, having just paid for the Fanatics tour I would have been happy to take those tix off your hands "callmecon" but I guess we can share a beer in the Johnny Warren tent instead... good luck with selling the tix, should not be too hard...

I am planning on staying in Cape Town for a week or so after the group games are played so will be trying to get some tix to the games played there if they are available...

pm me later on callmecon and I will definitely buy you a beer at only $3 , in Germany they charged $2 Euro just for the empty cup...

So how are you going to go with Australian Games then? I mean if Jo-Burg is 566km away from Durban and 8 of the 11 grounds are near Jo-burg are you flying or driving from games, seeing as a maximum of 1 Australian game will be in Durban.......

The games that are reachable by Coach will be driven too, the other games there will be flights arranged, the Fanatics have planes on charter standby depending on the outcome of the draw...

Freeway all the way between Jo-Burg and Durban 5 1/2 to 6 hours...

if it's anything like previous WC's, australia tickets will be 10 a penny.

Anyone know of any England tickets, as the best supported team at most WC's, these will be like gold dust.

Were you actually in Germany in 2006, trying to get tickets, trust me it was not easy but for a price they could be got... most things are available for a price, even tickets to see England play. Your repeated cheap shots at the country you chose to live in are wearing thin. The fatt that the English could get such easy access to Germany whilst for most Australians it was a difficult place to get to would obviously not factor into your tiny mind would it.

If you read what was said, it was not easy at all to get Australian Tickets in Germany, and it would be harder to get England tickets, fatcs are Germany and England are Geographically close, and the population in England that follow the football is massively bigger than in Australia, thats obvious to all,

You seem so dedicated Did you support England in Germany?

geography is irrelevant. You're closer to SA than we are. We'll still have more there meaning it's harder to get tickets.

I wasn't in germany because I couldn't get tickets. You could, kind of proves my point really.

last time i try snd help you lot if you're going to have a cry sbout stating some facts.

Where did I say one was easier than the other... I was more responding to the "cheap" comment you made about tickets to Australia's games, I was with a group of people who took the chance to travel on the off chance and they really did struggle and got tix to one game, in fact the guys at the campsite who were doing the same managed to get tix to two England games so yes they were available as I said at a price.

Re SA and travel time you need to look more closely at a map, London to Joburg is 11 hours direct. Adelaide to Joburg would be 12 hours if there was such a flight, there isn't and it in fact takes it takes 10 1/2 hours from Perth, but from Adelaide you need to add around 3 hours so it is actually Quicker and Easier to fly from london to joburg than adelaide to joburg

I am not being precious, I am just fed up with your throw away lines when you are talking BS most of the time .... I will continue to refute your posts as long as that situation remains.

I still think that if I had such a shit attitude towards the place I chose to live in I would move regardless of the circumstances.

Meanwhile back at the topic, Povman and Povboy are due to touch down in Cape Town on the 3rd of June (frequent flyers + $428 tax for both of us) , for a week of holiday with friends before driving/walking/flying/crawling to Durban for the 16 day jaunt at Fanatics HQ... only slight problem left is the little matter of a return flight which I am not concerned about at this stage...

LET IT BEGIN ... 347 Days until I step on the plane...

I still don't see why you think it was a shot at you. I merely stated that australia tickets would be easy to come by over there. If mates can get England tickets in germany then I'm sure you can get australia tickets.

If you think it's a dig to state that then seriously, you need to take a look at yourself and ask why you feel the need to get all protective over something I haven't even done. The fact that you saw a dig at australia says a lot more about you than it does me.
