The second half though was all Cougars, they did very well to get back into the game even though a little luck was involved, there's always luck in soccer. On another note 2 key "a players" were not playing for the cougars that i noticed which begs to think what the scoreline would have been. it's true that Para Hills got sucked in but it's part of football. Finally, the ref was extremely obvious in which team he wanted to see go through the tie. It's a shame that reffs still have that habbit, specially with all thats happened in the past. Most spectator brawls are due to the referee when it comes down to it. Amateur league really need to start soughting out the whole reff issue. All in all a very intense game to watch, very suprised to see many Cougar spectators travel the distance in the freezing cold. Looks like they are gonna be a very "large known club" to be recognised.
no wonder there aren't enough ref's in the game at amateur level as i don't believe the ref had a bad game at all and stil gets bagged, i have seen the same ref from sunday have much much worse games than that and he finally does a descent game and gets bagged anyway. not sure why the cougars are complaining so much as they got freekicks for the fouls whenever they occured and also got a penalty. what more do you want from the ref?

one other thing WWJD, you claim to be a neutral spectator however u sound like u get out to a fair few cougars games so i believe that may put a slant on your opinion.

on the game itself i thought the first half was dominated by PHE and they fully deserved their 3-1 lead but the second half was all Cougars and they deserved their comeback (no matter how jammy the winner was) although cougars were the better team in the second half PHE squandered numerous chances towards the end of the game.

Possibly but im only stating the obvious which you seem to agree with me on, except for the ref issue, i totally disagree with you. You can't actually say that the ref had a good game.

Second half PARA never looked like wanting to win until 10 mins to go they wanted to draw but drawing would have ment an extra 30 mins of putting up with sore losers............

Played Para Hills East 2 weeks ago, didn't seem at all dirty to me and I think it's the first time I have read that on the forum. There is always a debate about Saturday v Sunday and who is better but I think everyone agrees that Sunday is far more physical
Yes! Sunday league is far more physical than Saturday. And as to alm01 response, Para Hills East did play very physical soccer against us yesterday. I think that it may have been a tactic they used to intimidate a lowly positioned Saturday league team. It didn't work for them, in actual fact, it worked against them because we scored a goal from a free- kick (from a chop) and a penalty (also from another chop) .... and when I say chop, you could here it from the other side of the field... and trust me, I played yesterday... way over the other side.
There was a lot of banter travelling in both directions hence the reason for the rough game... but they are a good bunch of guys and probably are not usually as rough as they were yesterday... just one of those games. :)

Sunday league may be more physical cause it lacks skill.......

Didn't leave my game until 3.30 and had to go home as I was in shorts and a T, wouldn't have got to Munno Para until half time and Vale was much closer. Also gave me a chance to catch up with a few old friends that I don't get to see as often as I used to. Gave me a good chance to have a look at Elizabeth Vale and text out my new car alarm :P

Didn't get a chance to get on here yesterday as Monday's are really busy for me at the moment.

Munno Para 1 v Ingle Farm 4
A good hit out for us on a fairly small pitch. We had 4 players out who were either rested or suspended so a few guys playing in a few different positions. We scored two goals in the first 15 minutes and probably took the foot off the pedal a little bit. Munno Para threw a fair bit at us and played with a lot of heart but we were winning the middle of the park and they couldn't clear their defence effectively enough because of it. We conceeded to make it 2-1 but scored late in the first half. An early goal in the second half basically killed off the game. Full credit to Para to continued to battle and kick us all game. The early goals really did hurt the though. Cheers to everyone down there. They had a few people out watching and put some food on for us after the game. Good luck to Dave and Ian for the rest of the year.

Ingle Farm 7 v Brahma Lodge 3
Wasn't there to see it but we played ok without starring. With Gardens and Downs coming up, maybe the boys were focused on other games. Good result though and good to knock in some goals. A couple of fringe B team guys who are young and new to the club got a run so they will be better for the experience.

Elizabeth Vale 0 v Ingle Farm 5
Excellent play by my team today. They are starting to knock the ball around really well, using the width and not turning the ball over in the middle of the park. Vihad, Jamie, Nick and Aaron all played really well with Shannon our keeper making a couple of important saves. Our full backs attacked well with Pierre having a very good game their and Josh getting amongst the goals. I'd love to have the same team every week but every player is showing great signs of improvement.

Ingle Farm O35's 3 v Modbury Jets AFC 2
Again I wasn't there but it puts all 3 of our teams through to the next round of the cup.

All teams won on what was a horrible day weather wise. Big game this week against Gardens so hopefully we will have another 4 victory's this week.

what do u believe the ref got wrong in order for him to have had a bad game? i thought he gave free kicks when they were warranted booked players for appropriate tackles, gave a penalty that was justified and in general tried to let the game flow as much as he could given the poor conditions.

I thought the ref was pretty good all day don't know what the whinging is all about. Did a good job considering the poor conditions.

PHE dominated first half and scored 3 goals from poor defending.
Cougars dominated second half and scored from a penalty, nice free kick, and a suspect bounce that killed the poor keepers confidence for the rest of the game. Anything goal bound looked deadly from that point on.
Last 15 could have gone either way.
Very gutsy comeback that surprised the hell out of PHE as i think they expected the opposition just to lay down.
GREAT EFFORT by the Cougars boys from the west.......could go on to take a further scalp or two.

Apart from the silly free-kick he gave PHE for a back pass that was not even a back pass, that could really have levelled the scores and changed the result of the game, he was not too bad. Have had worse, and have had better.

how was it a silly free kick, the guy slid kicked the ball back to the keeper and he picked it up, how is that not a back pass? you can't tell me if it was at the other end your team wouldn't have asked for a free kick.

It was silly because it was not a back pass. Our defender slid in to intercept a through ball, which he did well, coming off the side of his boot. It rolled back to the keeper who picked it up. Hey, I would have appealed for it myself.... but it should never have been awarded.

Hey, I would have appealed for it myself.... but it should never have been awarded.
we will have to agree to disagree as from where i was standing it didn't appear to be off the side of the players boot and looked more like he intended to direct it back towards the keeper for the keeper to clear.
