Time to stop transfers by instalments

Just read Liverpool are still owed money on the sale of Peter Crouch to Portsmouth, I think its time FIFA stepped in enforced that transfers be paid in full at sale. This might help drive down the prices.

As an Everton fan, I know pretty much all our major transfers are done this way. We got Fellaini for 5 installments of 3 mil pounds each payable every summer. Yobo was signed in similar fashion.

Thats the point. Would drive the prices down considerably. But it still wouldn't stop the clubs from gettn financed from banks like Real did this season. So need to address that issue as well, only permit clubs to have limited amount of debt or something i dunno.

For every installment plan agreed to by clubs there are associated bank gurantees & letters of credit backed - most often - by debt from...........banks.

Don't agree if you haven't got the cash or your bank credit won't cover you, bad luck. The instalment system exposes club to greater risk of collapse.

but if you're selling something then obviously it should be your choice as to how you want to accept payment. The decision should always be with the owner.
