Reserves Cup

Adelaide Vikings (Div 2 Sun) 6 v Cougars (Div 3 Sat) 0

A good win by the reserves today considering not many of them have trained in the last 2 weeks :o Special Mention to the Cougars goal keeper who was superb, seriously, saved the game being an absolute blow out, some top draw saves and numerous one on ones.

Reserves Cup: Modbury Vista 2 - 5 Elizabeth Vale

Challenge Cup: Elizabeth Vale 3 - 2 Modbury Vista

Vista had about 65 - 70% of possession especially in the 2nd half where we came from 3 down at half time. Michael Brookes was the difference scoring 2 and setting one up in a 15 minute period by the vale where they were on top. He came off at half time and as Vista got 1 back they looked very rattled. In all great game though in the conditions and good luck to the Vale for the remainder of the season.

Reserves Cup

Munno Para 5 Macedonia 1

MP boys made tough work of it today. Scored all 6 goals, cracker from the keeper to send Maco's 1 up early into the second half. Not long later it was back to one all. MP had a few chances late but credit to maco's who hung on well. In extra time it was probably the fitness of the MP boys which saw them score 4 unanswered goals.

Screamer of a strike from one of the young boys to send MP 2-1 up, then the flood gates opened.

Good luck to maco's for the rest of the season.

USC Lions 0 - 1 Sturt Marion (AET)

Sturt probably edge it. A good cup tie with Sturt grabbing the winner in the first half of extra time with a stunning strike.

A well fought game.

Cheers USC for the hospitality.

East 3 - Cougars 4

Good result for the cougars. We maybe deserved the win, but at the end of the day they scored more than us.
A few of their lads might want to deflate the size of their ego's. Remember you are still a div3 side. Yes you won on the day, but sometimes winning without the talk is better.
Meh, another day at the office for the boys. Hit the track hard this week and hopefully get back on track in the league in a weeks time.

Dont flatter yourself WWJD, we actually had 5 first teamers available today and oly one played the first half only today, hence why our first team trained before your game. If your referring to the big fella who came on at the end he has played 25 mins this season! You guys didnt have far to go home anyway

Not sure on the ego's there sizes our what was said but in the end it was a good game played in poor conditions with Cougars the deserved winners...i think you guys might have come out cocky in the second half thinking the game was won at HT and 3-1. Took 3 Cougars goals for you to finally wake up and realise the game is 90 mins long with the last 15 mins very even.

yeah it was a good game and yeah your probably right, we came out and were very very flat and conceeded a goal early on. You cant tell me they deserved the win though. it was an even contest and we certainly had more chances to get the win. things just arent going our way of late, like the 4th goal :P

Great game today and as your first 5 words of your paragraph state, it was a good result for us. We may look silly, but we dont have to be reminded that we play division 3 saturday, hence the reason for a "mini" celebration after the game. It is a regret that we have to play in this division, but we done it to ourselves... but we are turning it around.
Hey, we beat a bloody good side at their home ground that play in a much stronger division than us. To top it off, we were 3-1 down at half time and came back to win 4-3.
As far as ego's go, I didn't hear any crap come out of any of our players mouths. We were just very happy with the victory. After what Jack Mehorf pointed out, maybe you guys are the ones with the ego problem. You thought you had it won at half time and looked like a completely different side after the break..... a guy from your team mentioned after the game "story of our season". Maybe you should look at your team issues instead of deflating another side and saying along the lines that we are a bunch of big- heads.
PS- Some dirty B astards in your team lost you the game today. 1 free-kick outside the box from a chop and another chop in the box for the penalty... yet not one send off for you guys today. Helps when your on a first name relationship with the ref. 8)

Para Hills East 3 Adelaide Cougars 4 (Nicholas Lalli 3  ,Nick Mavratzis 1)

A fantastic result for the club. Puts us in to the final 16 which is a first in the clubs history :D .
After playing a very average first half to be 3-1 down, we scored 3 goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to take out the victory. A splendid hatrick from Nick Lalli, who I think was hacked about 20 times today, and a superb free-kick from our zippy little star Mavratzis got us over the line.

PROUD OF YOU BOYS!!!!!!!! GO YOU F*CKN COUGARS!!!!!!

I thought most of your guys are certainly better than div3 saturday side. you should really kill that league, as you are.
Well i suppose ego's for your whole team would be a little unfair. i shouldnt have really brought that up because it was only a couple of your guys who thought they pretty good. oh well you get that.
I think that might have been me that said story of our season. Because we really have played well most of the game and conceed stupid goals and then we are trying to play ourselves back into it in the last 10 minutes.
Not dirty most of the time, maybe frustrated and your guys were winding them up.
The ref was pretty good and one of your guys could have been sent off at one stage. even really.......
Good luck for the season and hope u have a good cup run.

Next Sunday instead of talking cr*ap on here come past at 1.10pm and watch our b's play TTG, if you introduce yourself I will even let you compare the 2 team sheets from both todays game and next week. No need to stack any team today, as I said our A grade trained before the reserves game this morning.

Hate to say it buddy but your keeper looked shacky from start to finish....did well to almost get to the penalty though.
Conditions where shocking for any keeper though so it may have been a one off.
