Disgraceful Thieves

Post by Redders »

I hope the thieves that have broken into USC Lions bar two weeks running are happy. The bar was a main source of income for us and it was stocked up for our upcoming men’s night. Four clubs share the clubrooms at Grange, the bar is run by us. It looks very suspect considering there is no sign of break in to the clubrooms, which are alarmed, just the separately secured bar area. The roller door to the bar has been jemmied and 100’s of dollars of alcohol stolen two weeks running.

The thefts appear to come from people who have access to the clubrooms and alarm code. It is impossible to make accusations and I just wanted to air my disappointment about the situation. As a result we have had to remove the little remaining alcohol stored in the bar and stock it lightly on match day.

Stingrays, Monarchs and Red Blue Eagles.

The Amateur League previously took care of it, but it was more of a hassle for them. We proposed to run it this year. I guess none of the other clubs expressed any interest in running it.

Its disappointing that we've had to resort to this. As most established clubs know, the bar is a vital source of income.

Sorry to say but this sounds a bit fishy to me. The SAASL has exclusively run the bar for many years. I know for a fact clubs that have used the ground in the past have not been able to sell their own drinks. These clubs have proposed to sell their own drinks only to be shot down by the league. All of a sudden USC has exclusive rights to sell drinks? What club would NOT want to sell drinks? What is the real deal?

Check on top of the fridge as our graceful theives usually leave the money there. We really dont give a rats if we get broken into as long as its between 6am and midnight, 3am call outs suck. Ive seen the Lion bar did they get both cartons?

Seriously though sounds like an inside job, check Alex's office.

Whats fishy? That the alcohol was stolen or that we're running the bar?

We asked at the beginning of the season and we're granted permission. If the other club's have a problem with that, they should discuss it with the amateur league. According to the amateur league after the bar man paid himself and they took their percentage, the 'smaller' clubs were making little to no profit anyhow.

Sorry to say but you sound fishy to me...

PS. Your more then welcome to have the bar now... Noone can be trusted these days, sad really.

What I think sounds fishy is that you may have been robbed because you have the bar...when I know years ago that wasn't the case.

Why can't you all share the bar like some other places? Just lock up the fridge.

just to throw a little light on the subject, did you deliberately put that word in due to the past 3 or 4 posts describing the situation as fishy or was it just a typo? :D

True that, probably not the best thing to say on this forum. I mean theres only a few people who know that Vista keep the key to our bar under the front door mat so if anyone was to steal our booze we could narrow it down to three people!.... Oops!
