A: Budapest 2 Vipers FC 3
B: Budapest 2 Vipers FC 3
C: Mt Barker (C1) 1 - Vipers 1

Scorers (A): Kali, Jaric, Park Ji-Sung (well, our own version)
Scorers (B): Gill (2), Galos

A milestone day for the Vipers. From 0-2 down at half-time, the A's pulled off one of the results of the season. It was one of the most gutsiest performances I have ever seen. Both teams outplayed each other in each half, but it was the Vipers who prevailed thanks to some well taken goals working it up the field. Popovic was a threat all day, setting up both of Budapest's goals, but unfortunately getting sent off at the end after his frustration and defenders got the better of him (their other tall striker was also dismissed for the record).

I could sit here all day and discuss the game, it was that good. The first goal was a piece of magic from Kali, weaving in and out before smacking it from distance. Jaric collected a through ball to poke it past the keeper to level the scores, and then Parky collected a square ball on the edge of the 18 yard box to drill a low one in the near post.

PS - the club ref for Budapest in the B's looked like he was about to have a heart attack and NEVER looked at the linesman, he was incredibly biased and actually turned to a protesting Vipers player and responded with "because you were mean to me!" in response to not awarding a free kick. Hmmm.

Now Div II gets VERY interesting...

Hey Lucas!

Interested in how your new recruit from the Cougars went??? Dillon (South African lad).
Very good bloke and wish him well with you guys. Very happy that he has gone to a good club like the Vipers.
Dillon is a great lad, he's been very friendly and likeable in his first few sessions with the club. I'm not sure if he was in the B's squad this week, but I do know he's been carrying an injury so unaware of if he played or not.

no way that was a deserved goal, should be a foul every day of the week and you know it

i also think it would be a foul if it was the last defender u pushed over not the keeper, cant change it now however so enjoy your win

we will be back stronger, we didnt play our best football in that first half but the second half showed some good signs for the future

I personally don't think it was a foul but I have seen them given more often than not.

Dillon did play B's on Saturday, a great bloke, very friendly and fits in well within our club.

Then to finish it all off, he was the linesman for the A's, and in the first 5 minutes he flagged offside, when it clearly wasn't, only for the ref to wave him down.

When Budapest scored their first, he was walking along the line in front of us winking and smiling, would've loved to seen his face when we came from 2 goals down at HT to win 2-3.

Will be interesting to see if Budapest attempt to play Popovic against Villa, suggest the guys down at Villa do a card check for their upcoming match.

Oh and one more thing, a 2nd red card means a longer suspension doesn't it (i.e. 2 games instead of one?)
No, there's no discretion in the rules for that. I could get sent off every second week for two yellow cards and play half of the season.

Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. He slots into OUR team well, and does every thing that the coach and club want him to do. Simply suits our style of play. Would rather have him playing for us than against us.

PS- He does have great hair and the perfect boots... CMON!![/quote]

Of course he has great hair and perfect boots - it runs in our family 8)

I think Ross can play in Division 1 Saturday quite easily, he was consistently good for us in 2007.

Interesting comments from Zeus, I think he would slot nicely at Vipers but Zeus is part of the coaching staff at Vipers (please correct me if I am mistaken) and Vipers are definitely red-hot favourites to get promoted with Salisbury Villa this year.

There are too many good things to say about R.A, I agree he can play well and I have certainly seen him improve over the years. When he is in his best form and consistently in his best form he could easily be a first team regular.

Our strikers (or one of them at least) is getting old and is only interested in socialising with all the soccer mum's, His playing days are nearly over anyway. Ross could easily fill the gap. I do rate him, I just don't think he would be getting consistent 1st team time at the Vipers right now.

As for Viper's being the red hot favourites PPG, that is a huge call, why would you assume that? I don't think anyone has earnt that just yet. You've seen how close the comp is! I am amazed though as probably most are, that almost half way through the season, the two teams promoted from last year div 3 are sitting equal top of the table. But like I said earlier. The wheels can fall off quite easily in this division and it's not over till the hontrela sings a ripper zembekia.

Where did that come from?

Start of season we were favourites to go down, we are just taking it one game at a time, and as Zeus said it is a tight division, and we could still finish in the lower half. I think some mind games from you PPG, considering you haven't seen us play one game.

Well JG seems to be banging them in from both fronts...

I never tipped you for relegation! Results speak for themselves, equal top = favourites...

Plus signing Bill Petropoulos is huge!!!

Like that one about JG.

True you didn't however many did.

Equal top at this stage doesn't count for much. Just gives us a bit of breathing space. Still a long long way to go and many games to be played.

As Zeus said, us and Villa are equal top, with Comets right behind us, so it's a good showing from the Div 3 boys.

Yes, a very good bloke. He will be missed as he has played for the Cougars for several years. Glad that he has ended up at a good club. You will get 110% from him always and I will be suprised if you will find any one there can out sprint him. He is known as "springbok" as he is Seeuutthh Aeffriceen (South African).
ALL THE BEST.

He has mentioned to me that he could not find a club where he could feel that he would settle. So, I guess time will tell. I think he's happy at the Cougars.
