Jose to stay in Italy
Published on the BBC web-site Tuesday 26 May
Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has signed a new deal that will keep him at the San Siro until June 2012.
The 46-year-old, who won Serie A in his first season in Italian football, agreed a three-year deal when he first joined the club in June 2008.
Mourinho had said there was a "0.01%" chance of him leaving the club after reports linking him with Real Madrid.
But his decision to sign a new deal seems to have ended any chance of him joining the Spanish giants.
In a statement on the club's website, Inter Milan said the former Chelsea boss had expressed a wish to "continue the project" that had already been started.
"It is a sign of attachment to the club and a spirit to always win," added the statement.
The Portuguese said on Saturday that "little things" were needed to make him stay at the San Siro, hinting at a desire to strengthen his squad after an early exit from the Champions League this season.
Inter have won Serie A for the last four seasons, but have struggled to make an impact in Europe with defeat by Manchester United in the first knockout stage in March marking their latest failure.
However Mourinho's record of success at the top level - winning the league in Italy, Portugal and England, as well as the Champions League - means he is frequently linked with other clubs.
In February, he said he would like to return to the Premier League with Chelsea at some point in the future, while he is one of the names mentioned as a possible successor for Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in the future.

Not bad money if you can get it and if he keeps winning things [as is his way] then that will increase next time contract negotiations happen.
he is good for the game and the media....
all he has to do now is to get Inter to do well or better than any other Serie A club, in the UCL.

Real Madrid are in a dangerous situation atm, no matter what their proud history is it truly does look like an era of domination by Barcelona.
Even if they get CR7 and possible Kaka I still think they will struggle to contain what might become a Barcelona juggernaut for the next few years.

Tosser if you read his comments he said he was fourth or fifth in the line. "2nd choice" is a figure of speech.Madridista612 wrote:Lol I love the outburst that Mourinho had "whoever coachers Madrid will be second choice" No you nonce, they would be third choice...you were 2nd choice you arrogant f*uck. The level of Mourinho's arrogance is directly proportional to the stupidity of the person judging him. The thicker the judge the more arrogant Mourinho comes across.
I don't like lies. I have understood your market where sometimes lies sell more than truth. This is your life and I don't like it. I understand your work and I have to work with you, but the protection of my group is much more important than you
