Other wise he wouldn't agree with what I said. At the end of the day it was a very good game :D :D
I was the idiot that "talked myself into a red". Agreed I take full blame for getting sent off because I put myself in that position.....but I must say, what is going on when two lads cant have a bit of a crack at eachother without a referee taking his power trip to the next level. I am shattered with myself and have noone else to blame but me....however if players got sent off every week for swearing at another player then there'd be people missing games left right and centre. As for the game.....thought a draw would have been a fair result....and yes our keeper pulled off some cracking saves today.....he has been solid for us for the past few weeks.

if you were one of my team mates,i would be pretty pissed off with you,to be honest i think you cost your team 3 points today.
I dont think there would be many of the boys stinging as much as me and they'd have every right to be pissed off at me.

Would of been a great game to watch.

rats...i think??? got booked for off the ball incident then back chatted ref to earn second booking.
I got booked for a late hip and shoulder and the second yellow was for chat to the player not the referee. I asked the referee what the second yellow was for thinking maybe he thought I was talking to him. He knew I wasn't but as he explained to me "abuse" to any player can constitute a booking......hence my comments before about two lads having verbal not being allowed being a bit weak IMO. However like I also said before, I was the idiot that put myself in the position so I have to wear it.

westies v gardens

c's
3-3
didnt see this one but heard it was a good battle throughout

b's
0-0
from what i saw we looked good, but couldnt seem to score. ball just not falling right for the ressies at the moment, but with the squad we have the results are only around the corner.

a's
0-1 goal scorer- ross taylor
a great result for us yesterday. first time weve won at westies for a long time. thought we played pretty well and probably deserved the win. redsfan09 pulled of a couple of a couple great saves, 1 in the first and 1 in the second. we also had 2 goals dissalowed for offside. westies were well organised as usual, and broke with real pace goin forward, the boys at the back did a great job all day. ross got the winner with about 20 to go with a good finish, its good to have him back and playing well.

florina at home next week should be a cracker with a decent crowd. nothing less then a win is needed and we know how tough they are, with all that fire power up front peacy im sure will be kept busy. on a side note, weve made extra room in the away change rooms to allow for m andreas head

What happened to the Vale?

Heard they were lucky to escape with a point against winless Pontians.

Vale keeper man of match!

Have the Pontians improved that much? Saw them at PHW and they were terrible!

Great week of Soccer

Well done Vale Girl, u salvaged a point from Pontians. Fantastic!
On a serious note, congratulations to Parafield for doing what other teams couldn't. Beat Westies. Must have played very well to win.
Downs quietly going along doing their business
Ingle Farm will come back into things second round if not earlier, and still not out of it.
League starting to stretch itself out with 5 going for title and 5 going for middle and bottom finishes.
Will be a good game against Parafield this week and expecting a tough encounter. Hey Nugget, come up and say Hi, I'll be the No: 10.
As for our match report i'll leave it to Jay.
Big boutso in golo!

Not blaming your striker for taking his chance, just saying that if it wasn't for the deflection/through ball from the ref the chance would have never come about.

yes our first win at last, we should have had the game wrapped up by halftime but missed chances and kept Grove in the hunt. Credit to Grove who fought back really well and pushed us all the way defended well and Mark in goals pulled off some great saves

Wont say too much about Reserves first half although credit to Grove for sorting out an incident that could have been so much worse and second half was enjoyable
I heard one of Knights supporters sorted the incident out quite nicely.   I have only heard about it 3rd hand though so some of the finer points might not be correct. Does anyone who saw it first hand feel like elaborating?

The Grove Club referee responded to jibes and accusations about some of his decisions by charging with fists flying at a small group of Knights supporters after the half time whistle. He never really managed to connect ( although he may have received a knock for his troubles.) and was held back by both Knights and Grove people. It could have got out of hand but common sense prevailed.
The Club referee then threw off his vest, whistle and cards and went of home looking somewhat remorseful...from talking to a Grove official he is under some stress, or is dealing with some stress management issues at the moment.
I hope he is alright and has calmed down now.....refereeing is not really for everyone.
Another Club referee resumed after half time.
I'd like to thank the lady serving behind the canteen for allowing me to recharge my camera battery.
I have a few evening meetings this week and many photos are blurred because of the overcast conditions so my pictorial report might be a little slow coming to fruition !

Who hasn't got stress in their lives?
The bloke in question has always got some kind of excuse to hide behind, he'll never take responsibility for his actions.
He is a waste of space, it's not the first time he has done this sort of thing at the Grove. I've seen him start lots of fights all of which have resulted in him getting beaten up. Never known someone with no fighting ability to start so many fights .

If the Grove don't want the stigma that is starting to be associated with them they should get rid of this loser. He's giving a lot of good guys a bad name.

the travis johnstone/ jesus look a like that plays for vikings in the middle of the park is a top player, i had the pleasure of chasing him around the park a few weeks back and wasnt an easy task. well done to west beach yesterday for their win and must say they knocked the ball around well against us, reckon they have the tallest and shortest players in the league in the one side! cricket pitch area in the middle of the park made things difficult for the CM players but otherwise the pitch was in good nick

pontian played really well, moved the ball nicely didn't look like a bottom team to me, i don't know if they have picked up players or not but can't see them staying bottom, vale did get a late equaliser but the pontian goal came from a clearance that hit the ref and went for a through ball for them which they finished nicely, game was played in good spirits unlike the reserves game which saw pontian getting 3 red cards because they have no discipline and can't control there tempers.

Also Southern Knights third goal came from a mistrapped passback by the centre half not a well weighted throughball congratulations on knights putting away 3 of there 4 chances though! Goalkeeper for Knights made save after save after save from what i seen Grove had 75% of play just couldnt find the net and once again 3 errors cost 3 goals!

Sorry for the late report, I have looked on here but been busy with a few things.

A's 2-3
Take out the first 30 minutes and it was a very close tight game. Unfortunately we didn't show up until we were 3 nil down. Florina broke through with a couple of long balls and scored a scrappy first goal, and tap in second goal and a goal mouth half tap in, half scramble. After that, we shut down their midfield better and created more run but it took until the second half to find a goal. Florina tired in the last 15 and we just didnt capitalise on enough chances to scrap a draw. Really disappointing result for us given what happened last week.

B's 4-1
The B's are getting their mojo back after a slow start. Knocked the ball around nicely and created plenty of chances. We went 1 nil down early but from their looked in control. Florina had some chances but we dominated possession and eventually over ran them. Cam Hawkins played very well and a couple of the kids from the C's got some more time and didn't look out of place.

C's 0-3
Only had 12 players and we really struggled the create many chances. I thought we knocked the ball around well but really didn't put enough shots on goal. We made a couple of mistakes and Florina punished us. Hopefully the A's and B's get some players back so we can get a couple and some of the guys who were out this week are available.

Dad's Army 8-2
I think Steve Pat scored 4 to have a big win over the Grove.

Cheers to Florina for putting on the BBQ after the game. Good to see Azza been involved in the club, he was there refereeing the second half of the C's and watched as much as he could of the B's. Cheers to Prez and Uncle Cracker for the drinks and good luck for the rest of the year.

Well done to Gardens for knocking off Westies. It keeps the season very much alive and interesting.

A's Downs 7 v 0 USC Lion ( 1 v 0 at half time)

Dont know what happened after half time to USC, but def didnt put the same effort in as first half. I will let Redders tell us.

Some good results in the way of keeping the league tight at the top. Should be interesting come September.

Have to agree with nugget66 comments about the game. Thought the ref was the best all year to date.Parafield took it right up to us as we knew they would. I thought we had most of the play in the last 20 minutes or so but they kept us out very well. Our defence was changed around from last week after tim was sent off and a lad from the reserves filled in and they never looked settled. How lucky was your keeper to be playing this week after he took out the striker in the box with a boot to the chest as he fended him off. If he was given a yellow how was that not a penalty or free kick to westies. Instead he got the card and the goal kick. He was entertaining though when you got your goal, what a fruitcake. Not too upset losing to a good team. Losing two out of the last 25 games is still not bad as long as we dont make it a habit.

Vicotr had been called offside so the ball was dead when he got kicked, so from my understanding that was the right call, but the kepper definatly should have been sent off, very lucky from my perspective, but there aint a lot u can do about it now.

and what do u mean a lad from the ressies filled in, ive started every game except the farm game which i was unavailable for
