Anfield, 1994.
There once was a banner hanging off one of the stands of Anfield in 1994. This banner read: "Come back when you've won 18!"
Well, here we are.
Well, here we are.

Re: Anfield, 1994.
Sir Alex has taken Man U on an amazing ride, when he took over they had won 7 titles, they have now equalled Liverpools tally and congratulations to them and him. Interestingly in the press this week Sir Alex has insisted that the celebrations will come when they overtake Liverpool not equal them, so I guess next season is going to be the ultimate in the bragging rights contest that has captured the imagination of the world... Game on.

Congratualtions to McDonalds United becoming the FIRST CORPORATION to win 18 league titles, however Liverpool still remain the only club to win 18 titles.
That is all.

Liverpool v Manchester United: Eric Cantona to return in spirit now United have 18 titles
Manchester United supporters are planning to don Eric Cantona masks in order to mock their Liverpool rivals during Sunday’s Premier League clash at Anfield.
Plans for inflatable beach-balls to be taken into the stadium, a reference to Sunderland’s inflatable-assisted goal against Liverpool last Saturday, have been ruled out with the Anfield club insisting that such objects will be confiscated.
But the 3,500 travelling Manchester United fans are aiming torment the Merseysiders with Cantona masks as a response to a goading banner unfurled on The Kop during the 3-3 Premier League draw in 1994.
Having ended their 26-year wait for the league title at the end of the previous campaign, United travelled to Anfield with eight championships on their record – still ten behind Liverpool’s all-time record figure of 18.
The Liverpool banner read, ‘Au Revoir Cantona and Man United...Come back when you’ve won 18!’
With United winning their 18th league title last season, however, fans are now being urged to download the Cantona masks prior to Sunday’s game.
Liverpool have confirmed, though, that fans will be searched before entering Anfield in order to prevent unauthorised inflatables being taken into the ground.
A Liverpool FC spokesman said: "Any inflatable items will be confiscated at the point of search, whether inside or outside the stadium."

Re: Anfield, 1994.
I posted this pic in the "epl Sept 26" thread. I know of the lad who remembered, and found, the original photo. His memory is incredible. And the Cantona mask day was probably started on Red Issue, just like the 70's revisited days at Blackburn. Which have now ben copied by other clubs. The Joker wrote:

Re: Anfield, 1994.
couple of points to talk about man u as a corporation and liverpool not. haha!! Both have sold their souls.
inflatables being confiscated "outside" the ground. What right do they have to do that, i'm sure it's on their tickets about "inside" but they have no jurisdiction until they enter Liverpool FC premises. Will they be at blackpool beach the next day confiscating them as well.
Fergie: one of the greatest British managers of all time, but how close was he to getting the sack in that game v forest.

Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

Hawkesy has been corrected re the rules on bringing stuff in, and wherr you are searched. The Surrey boys can beaten up by the Merseyside constabulary and they are within their rights
Re: Anfield, 1994.
correct he is scottish, but he's also British. He is probably one the greatest manager in the ENGLISH game as well.yogi wrote:Hawkesy wrote:couple of points to talk about man u as a corporation and liverpool not. haha!! Both have sold their souls.
