BOSA odds on favourites for this years championship...... just watch out for Adel Villa..... your only threat this year.
You dont rate St Peters :?: :?: :?:
Maybe you should......

Decent game by the boys today. We showed good fight. Uni were a good side, but they were one of the biggest bunch of whingers i have ever played against!! They had some decent touches and players, but telling the ref to give a yellow card is just not on in my book.
Anyways we got the resullt we were looking for and we march on into the next round.
:D
Uni couldn't score, woeful work in the box, two times created situations where keeper was stranded with defenders only elft on the goal line...and both times failed to convert. If you don't score you won't win, simple as that.

Decent? I thought I was pretty awesome personally!
True we had 2 saved off the line i think. Good desperate defending from the boys!
Which number where you and i'll tell you how you really played. :D

And vigilante on the score sheet again for his 2nd for the year in the A's and Ga Pala on target for the b's - what a day it was - we will probably never c that again with all 3 of us on the scoresheet on the same day!!!

Ended 2-0. Arm wrestle of a first half, chances either way. Bosa dominated the seconds, but there is no way the strikers are a div 5 team haha.

Our B's won 5-1 I think.

A very hard fought game from both teams today. In a game that was played on surely the largest pitch in the league both teams gave it their all.

I think overall SPOC attacked a little better than Gully today with probably more chances to nail the game shut early in the second. Mind you Gully did pepper the box with numerous corners both at the end of the first half and in the second. Gully will certainly be a div 2 force and with 4 players to come back in will be tough to beat, especially at home.

Good luck to the gully, a great bunch of lads, and the SPOC train rolls on - big big game vs BOSA this week!!! Can't wait for the cup draw!!!

Heard East won 1 nil over Adelaide Uni (krollig pen)
I saw the first half of Gully vs SPOC- and the winning goal.

It certainly is a wide pitch... players tended to bunch down the middle; occaisionally the ball would be switched to the flanks, and suddenly a player would be in acres of space! Why have Gully stopped using their other pitch, which was more compact?

Gully a good, solid side- but sometimes lacking that final creative idea in attack. SPOC had the cleverer forwards. A couple of runs from their no.7 were (literally) breath-taking!

Para Hills East vs Adelaide Wanderers reserves 4 - 1

Wanderers down to 10 men for an hour of the game due to injury and not having any subs.

The pitch next to the one we played on is 10 meters longer and 2 meters wider, all Junior teams play on them and so do we. The Big pitch is too big so we play on the one we used yesterday. Was a good game, unhappy to lose BUT maybe the breaks later in the year will take us onto bigger and better things. Like to say thanks for St Peters staying around for a beer afterwards it was good to see.

I mean the pitch down below, next to the church-theatre place, or whatever it is....I'm sure that looks smaller, and I've seen Gully play there in previous years.

Is your goalie the captain? He certainly drives the team on....

Firsts
Budapest 3 Hahndorf 3 full time
Budapest 5 Hahndorf 3 after extra time.
Entertaining game from both sides, Budapest used their large pitch well, Hahndorf wasted some very good chances.

Reserves
Elizabeth Vale 3 Hahndorf 2
Great effort by the Magpies, Vale were probably looking to spank us. 2-2 at half time and 3rd Vale goal a soft penalty. Good crowd on hand, very nice surface, most of the Hahndorf lads enjoyed the match.

Ressie's
West Beach 4 - 2 Adelaide Uni

From what I am told .. it was a real game of two halves! Adelaide Uni dominated the first going 2-0 up then in the second half Beach got a man sent off and scored 4 goals..

A's
West Beach 3 - 1 Vikings

Two early goals from Beach. Vikings played well without really creating many chances. Got a peno to make it 2-1. Turned into a scrappy game after that..Second half, Vikings had a chance to level the score with a second peno but missed. Own goal sealed it for the Beach.

I did think you meant that one after I replied. Look to be honest Im not 100% sure, the playing surface in my opinion is better up the top its closer to the changerooms and with the new developments and upgrading to the club it makes sense to be playing up there. Bottom pitch is smaller and more compact but it gives unfit teams an advantage (Its why the 35's play there!)

GK isnt the captain BUT he is one of the best "Talkers, Communicators" going around. I think more keepers should be like him!

I was number 21.

The second save off the line... equally funny and fustrating, one of your guys attempts to blasts it away...instead hitting it towards goals and a second defender who shields his face with his hands. Lucky not to concede a penalty on that one!

7 yellows to West beach. 0 to Vikings
2 penalties awarded to Vikings!
Great refereeing. NOT!
the ref was all vikings all day and Beach still prevailed.

Cheers Rexie.

I think the Gardens lost 2-1 to San Marco although I'm not 100% sure.

Almost half the Sunday premier division B teams would have been knocked out if that's the case (Lion, Inter, pontians and Parafield)

Team still left are (Vale, Farm, Downs, Florina, Fulham and West.)

First Team

Modbury Vista vs Angle Vale

Modbury deserved winners in the end but not before they where pushed by a very young Angle Vale side, thought the country lads held their own very well in the first 20-25 minutes but seemed to lack that cutting edge going forward. Very lucky to finish the chance they had with a back post scramble, but finished it none the less. Vista Lad i think you are dead right when you say the first touch was poor, it was. Vista really did look the goods in passages but apart from the first touch i think that it was also off the ball movement that wasn't up to scratch. At one point the right back picked up the ball from a keeper throw and walked with the ball to half way then looked up (no less than ten yards from where I was standing) and not one player was in a position to accept a pass (forward or behind the ball). The ball was then turned over and he was ridiculed for not finding a player free.

Angle Vale seemed top die off in the later stages of the game and this was when Vista started finding the back of the net. Modbury deserved to win on the day with their overall performance but i think you will find that a mixture of under-rating their opponents and lack of effort put into the game was the reason for the scoreline (not to say that it wasn't a good result in the end).........

But it should have been a cricket score.

Reserves

Ingle Farm vs Elizabeth Grove

An interesting one to comment on due to several reasons. Ingle Farm with most of the ball in the game but seemed to make silly errors that stopped us from getting 4 or 5 more than we did! All credit to Grove who faught right to the end with only the one on the bench and (no disrespect) was one of the cleanest games i have seen/been involved in against the peckers. When the two teams had the ball Grove moved it around much better but again lacked a cutting edge up front. That's not to say we weren't in the same boat and had we been a little more clinical it could have and should have been 6-1 or 7-1. Great surface to play on as well and always have a laugh when I play there with the changerooms. I thought the referee was interesting to say the least and in no way slandering him seemed very sure of his decisions whether they were right or wrong. Perhaps that was the reason it was a clean game. Not sure about the square posts though........ time for an upgrade on them!

Good luck to the grove boys for the rest of the season and it was good to see a few of the C's lads come up and show a bi of depth at the Farm.

All in All a good day of Football from a player and spectator point of view.

What position were you? Up front?
He copped plenty in the changerooms afterwards dont worry! :) I think it actually hit the defender in the ribs, well thats what i heard after anyway.
We were lucky in patches, but thats the game i guess.

nah I was the the dark centre back. Looked like his hands from where I was but I was 50m away. The game was 50-50, I thought we were the better skilled but we had woeful finishing, where as you gyus were better physically, but some of your players were well and trully switched off and didn't come to the ball, I think I heard "Skinner, wake the <insert swear word of choice> up" quite a few times.

Going by the teams left in the first team cup, would think West Beach ,Vale, Farm, Para West are in for a shot at taking this out. 8)
