Collegiate League Results - 2009

Post by Running Man »

Interesting first up results in Cup Round 1.

Windsor & Rostrevor A, B & C out were the standouts.

Were Uni Black C's that good? or Windsor's undetermined preseason showing immediate consequences. Scudetto you got any news?

Norwood's big win was the pick of the bunch & will have Rossie Div 3 team questioning whether the prospect of playing against Wanganeen is that enticing after all.

Be interested to hear about the other games, Uni White A's looked strong this year but scrapped through, likewise I would of thought Merc's would have had an easier ride - no disrespect to the other sides.

I agree RunningMan, some very interesting results to kick of the CSL season

Windsor's loss would have to be the biggest suprise to me. However, I have no doubt they will bounce back and probably revenge saturdays defeat to UniBlack C's in their season opener next saturday, they are a very strong side and will certainly be challenging for the Div3 title this year.
As for Norwood, their result did not suprise me, they were an excellent side last season and with the introduction of a few tallented new faces (I read on their forum) they are capable of going even further in this seasons cup than they did last year.
I was suprised with Rostrevor's A side going out so early as well, a cousin of mine who went to Rostrevor told me about some new signings that would make them invincible, must not have been their day.
Needless to say, it was the first game of the season, I'm sure Windsors results will not be testiment to how their season will unfold, and they, along with Norwood, PAOC, Grads Red, and UniBlack (if saturdays Results are anything to go by) (any team for that matter) will all be very tight at the top of the DIV3 ladder. With the competition seamingly much more even this year, it will be an excellent season which could go down to the wire. We look forward to some great encounters over the next 5 months :)

I know. Didn't you see his post in the Cup Results thread:

Nakamura25 wrote:As: Agiula V Athelstone.
aguila 2 - Athelstone 1

Was a great game to watch 1st half was evenly matched, Agiula took the lead through no.19
stone came back to scored the equaliser earli on in the 2nd half but agiula was to strong at the end with no.19 scored again with a header.

Any news on Uni Black Div 3 side, are they any good or is Windsor G missing a few? Enjoy the Unley pitch this week Windsor I hear its a real dog.

Grads Red look to have some promise this year, Norwood have strengthened their squad substantially - making out to be the best comp in years.

Massive game this week, Norwood vs Windsor - Wanganeen with 8 goals in 3 games, Menillo, Morgillo and Artone apparently pulling all the midfield strings, Windsor starting to get their groove back with some scrappy wins.

1-1 draw next week.

What a star studded midfield, is there room for Totti in that midfield?

Totti holds his own & more - no need to ask any questions there. Plenty of competition keeps everyone honest & on their toes.

Look out for the ripper CSL Cup game Norwood vs Mercs A's - pity it didn't happen later on. This will show just how far NSC have come against what are always quality opposition.

How come they dont play in the A division? A bit of a joke having that team in the C div.

:?: not jealous, just wanting to know y they are in a c division when they are clearly gd enough to be in the A div? Prob would go close to winning the thing to.

What happened in the Windsor vs Grads Red game? 1-1

I'm sure it was an interesting game, no shortage of short fuses in both teams!

Grads Red got any clout this year?
