Good performance by our guys today in beautiful weather, very strange for Grange. We moved the ball around nicely, created lots of chances and took a few. Jonesy on fire again, Christo, Squiddy, Barry and Clarky look solid in defence. Mr X had a couple of shots on goal but none hit the shin so they didnt go in  Lion battled but it just wasn't their day. Good win for us considering I dont remember our A's ever winning at Grange.

B's 2-5
Shaky start and were 2-1 down but fitness shone through and they started to take a few of the chances they were creating. The smaller pitch didnt help our play I think and when we missed some easy chances, we got a little more desperate. Once we drew level at 2-2, the game completely swung our way. Credit to Lion for not rolling over but didn't quite have it in them today.

C's 2-2
Their C's is actually a group of guys from Botswana and they are good. Long boot from defence to guys that can hold the ball up front and get around players. They have one guy who is honestly 200cm. He scored with a header from a corner and we gifted them a goal but we created lots of chances, hit the post three times and missed from inside the six yard box twice. The kids are getting better with every game as they get fitter and use to the stronger bodies of Amatuer's v's EDJSA and Junior Feds.

Dads Army 3-5
We lost, not sure how or why. Kingy hit the post, thats about all I know

Good day out for the club. Cheers to Redders. Just to anyone from Lion reading this, give the guy a hand. He refereed two games, set the nets up and played half a game in the A's. A few guys had a go at him cause something wasn't done. Why dont you do it yourself so you know its done rather than add an extra task to his day when he has 89 other jobs to do on the day. Cheers to the Lion guys though who are generally a good bunch of lads.
as neutral watching the b's match i definately have to say that the game really turned on its ear when the farms skipper was brought on. the boys immediately responded to the intensity he brought on the field thus leading to his courageously, well taken equalizer. :D :D

Was good to see some of my old mates at Raptors

In the reserves we were outplayed and the better team won - I believe Raptors are on par with Vikings very good all round side

In the First Team, was a good game despite both teams current positions - end to end stuff with Raptors on top early but Knights finished the stronger team - due in part to some Raptors injuries

I very much doubt Raptors will get relegated and would tip tem to win their next game
finally an unbiased report on a game...
well said knight7 thought we had our chances to win the game in early stages but then were lucky to hang on for a point as you guys ran all over us at the end.
looking forward to some photos from swanny......

What, no write up?

Can you at least tell us if No.8 got chopped or did the chopping?
Just so happens another bloke was wearing the number 8 this week. Last weeks number 8 got in hard as usual but no unfair tackles. Brahma controlled most of the game but failed to put away their chances, game was a bit messy and frustrating for the players considering the size and state of the pitch. One of the substitutions was able to lob the keeper in the last ten minutes 2 finally put a win on the board.

Don't forget about the other subs made  , IMO they had just as much positive input as the ressies skipper although still thought the big fullback who was skipper for the game controlled the back line and made it hard for lion to create chances (except for the two goals). Andy made a very positive contribution to the game by lifting intensity and putting away the equaliser but Lloydy came on and created many more chances by pushing USC back and forcing the ball forward. Just as many chances in the second half as the first however Farm much more clinical towards the end of the game. Could and should have been a repeat of last week :!:

Jay, Dead right with Redders refereed two games then sat on the bench for the firsts (it was a player going down, and no trainer around that they had a go at him for) but damn right when you said they should have helped him out he did organise 99% of the day and all credit to him for doing it, Lion want to hang on to him!

yeah the big fella was a bit hard done too with the free kick to get lions second. and yes i agree all subs made worthy contributions but there was just something about that number 3 though. grove should be a good test for the b's this week

I disagree, I thought Farm were still in control then and really, the guy that came on just took advantage of tired legs caused by the players on the pitch at the start of the game  I would of left the captian of the B's on the bench for the entire game, not enough creativity by him :D

Another decent effort by your again outlaw and I agree with Lloyd, he did look good when he came on. Maybe he needs to buy a new car though so he can get to a ground on time and then he would start :D

Cheers fellas for your support after another tough day at the office for the lads. We've got some serious regrouping to do and hopefully the cup round can lift some spirits.

Just a quick note on our B's, some who have never played football before this year. It was excellent to see them put up such a fight against one of the best reserve sides in the association. They fought tooth and nail all day and its biggest effort i've seen them put in all year. If they keep trying like that their elusive first win cannot be too far away. The penalty was maybe questionable in hindsight, but I thought he beat the keeper to the ball and was taken down. In the end, the Farm were too classy, they dominated really from start to finish and we took the only two clear cut chances we had.

Thanks to the Farm lads for staying back for a bite to eat( well Mr X ate most of it) and a drink. We don't normally get that from some of the Northern Clubs and your support was greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the Nice word Jay, no scissor kick this week (although i had an opportunity to again from a fedzy cross but i didnt want to make a tit of myself after last week) I think Henrik we need to look over our contracts at the clause that states a beer per goal i think a beer a win is very generous!!

Good work Redders, you were USC Lion yesterday, nice grunt noices aswell on the pitch, and yes those 6 chips and a sausage were superb, big thanks to Leon, as I seen him and wondered why he was sitting by himself inside the clubrooms (nah I wasnt really wondering - its a common occurence) but I did ask him why - and he pointed out the food.

Lion have some great players, once they get a couple back from injury they will be a formidable side.

Score for the salivating masses.

B.L are a hard bunch. Some solid tackles.
No. 8? Dont know if its the same guy that 6 Dinar Man was talking about.
This one was made of chocolate. And the sun was out. I dunno.
They ran the whole 90. We faded about 75 min.
They scored about 80th-85th? min.
Not a pretty goal.
Some crappy luck at the back, a shot in off the underside crossbar.
A penalty claim for us waved on. Later explained as "ball-into-hand".
How much did you drink in 90m to be pijan? I thought you were from the Balkan?

They scored in the 91st minute to equalise against us. Solid team but not that techniqually minded. Boys thought the game was in the bag and wicked shot caught everyone by surprise.

Beograd destroyed Blue eagles and quite easily could have been 10 or more.

They are a good side but I think Beograds style gives them problems.

Yes, have to agree with you there general - we both play similar styles, and player for player, we were outclassed.

West beach controlled the first half and probably should have had a bigger lead going into half time.
gullyz came out firing and scored and had west beach back peddling but could not find a second gullyz started to ease off the gas and west beach got back in the game a couple of subs, wich had good affect also.

To say ttg gully where the better team would be stretching it. West beach completely controlled the first half as I said earlier and gullyz had most of the second before they slowed up,
the person posting earlier must have been watching the same game as the coach  every time the ref gave beach a free he complained and every time beach made a tackle he said it was a foul.

imo fairly even game both sides had large portions of control the game, difference being west beach took their chances.

Just so happens another bloke was wearing the number 8 this week. Last weeks number 8 got in hard as usual but no unfair tackles. Brahma controlled most of the game but failed to put away their chances, game was a bit messy and frustrating for the players considering the size and state of the pitch. One of the substitutions was able to lob the keeper in the last ten minutes 2 finally put a win on the board.
hmm interesting forgot Bra's Lodge play there home games at Wembley... what did you expect, this is Amatuers.
had no expectations, just hard to play the ball about when the ball pops up at your knees before you have a crack. Wembley is in London silly.

I'm not sure if I can post any photos this week, my lenses seem to be adding kilograms to players Image
The computer at home was occupied last night and I have a meeting tonight....I'll try later.

A big crowd attented the game between Westies & Florina at Westies ground. Pitch looked better than i have ever seen it since playing against Westies.
We started the game at a cracking pace and Westies were all over the place first 20min and we scored a deserved goal thru trevor elliot on a through ball. That sparked Westies to slowly come back into the game and with about 10 or so to go, they equalised with a long throw in and flick on and buried at the near post. Trevor had another chance with a one on one to make it 2-1 our way but took too long and the defender cleared it away. Westies started to play better and not long after through a mistake on the left, Eric wisking it across goal for an easy goal for another Westies player to score. We had a few more chances but just couldn't convert. Second Half we started at a quick pace again and miss after miss by trevor & azza didn't help. Some great saves by the keeper also may i add. Westies got a thrid with about 15 or so to go, but i don't think they had too many chances. they got 3 goals from about 5 or 6 chances and we got 1 from about 10-12 chances that at least 3 or 4 should have been goals. Westies will do very well this year, but i look forward to the return leg at our ground. I apologise to the westies supporters for not bringing my wallet   but that was only meant for one person, and i should have wrote at the end of it, "and live to tell about it" :D
Anyway, i don't think we deserved to lose, but that's soccer. The Ref was the biggest :clown: i have ever seen in this whole wide fn world. That's the type of ref you'd love to king hit and knock him out for 6 weeks and take a year ban for it. well worth it i think. Not that any decisions had influenced the outcome.

Yes, have to agree with you there general - we both play similar styles, and player for player, we were outclassed.
most would think the 7-4 score line was a hit out..... but it was accually because of both teams ability to have that final play in lead up to a goal....

a fair score in the end... but yes could have been 10-3 if Beograd accually tried towards the end

FLORINA THROW AWAY TOP SPOT

Image

Florina faced their first loss of the season against Para Hills West away and dropped down to third on the table. Florina started the game where they finished off last week by scoring a good goal through a nice build up down the left hand side and to see captain Trevor Elliott slot it home. Para Hills West slowly pulled themselves back into the game by gaining control and equalised catching Florina a sleep at the back on a throw in that was flicked on and put away. Not long before the break Para Hills West put themselves ahead and finish the scoring for the half at 2 -1. Florina in the second half tried to pull themselves back into the game but selfish play in front of goal and wasted opportunities in the box saw them miss out on salvaging 3 points let alone 1 for the draw. Para Hills West half way through the second half scored an excellent third goal with a nice strike to gain control of the game. Florina looked to peg back the scoreline but some nice work from Para Hills West goal keeper made sure of the result. Late in the second half Florina were reduced to ten men after a second yellow to Bill Droulias which added to an undisciplined day for Florina compared to Westies well disiplined structure that saw them go top of the league.

Recalled this week so I took it more seriously and did all my drinking after the final whistle.
Didnt help my game at all though.

We had settled for the draw when they got theirs.
You can make up for lack of technique with 90 min. of 'run-run' mentality. Like Paul Wade.

Where did you play? Shirt front any poor talijanci?

Played both b's and a's and corked my right thigh and strained left driver. not many years left on the pitch. I tried one in the b's but he was to small and quick.

which golden oldies play in your A's & B/'s?
