Peter Mcdermott wouldnt have gone to Tee tree gully without a good incentive. do they spend on players? certainly not on new shirts

Re: Sunday Div 2 - How many club out there pay their A team?
does this topic come up every season!
I know you were starting the topic to try and get a decent honest response. But what you have so far is all its going to be. Other clubs saying they pay their players and most clubs denying it. Big G has been honest about his previous club (i think). I would say now days a fair few players are getting paid and really who cares. Some clubs have the money to do it and others dont. I think some clubs, cough cough, vista, need to worry about their own back yard first.

Re: Sunday Div 2 - How many club out there pay their A team?
Paying players is asking for trouble without a stable club and long-term income sources. The big clubs in Div 1 have obviously got the following, a good clubhouse, good committee, history and top sponsorship to stay consistent. You can always tell the teams who get a little income for a while but are not established enough to keep it going. Sure, raise money to keep the fees down but don’t pay players. I have always believed you should rack some years up for your club and try to build a long term allegiance, and strive to get your name up there on the honour board, become part of it’s history. It may sound corny these days but wandering from club to club has no real satisfaction or enjoyment…. being with basically the same mates for years and enjoy the ups and downs, the banter, families, growing the club, seeing the young guys come through…. and even the sons, is what it’s all about for me.

Personally i feel you should get $10 for every year you've been at the club per win.... I'd be sitting on $230 a win, sounds bloody great to me

Re: Sunday Div 2 - How many club out there pay their A team?
There is no big deal with this i was just curious, i have played for a few amateur clubs over the years but never for money, i play because i love the game but if people are getting paid good luck to them, they are playing the sport they love and getting paid to do it at the same timeEast Boy wrote:does this topic come up every season!![]()

Yeah i know you were just curious, but almost everytime, you will get banter between clubs and a slagging match. I think playing for the shirt is the main point about amateurs anyways. Stick with the club through thick and thin and it becomes more enjoyable when success comes your way.BADA BING wrote:There is no big deal with this i was just curious, i have played for a few amateur clubs over the years but never for money, i play because i love the game but if people are getting paid good luck to them, they are playing the sport they love and getting paid to do it at the same timeEast Boy wrote:does this topic come up every season!![]()

Heard Vista need to win 5 (or 6) games - then every win after that will be $60 a player. Good luck to them if that is the case - if you can get the $, why not eh?Ginger Bread Man wrote:i dont think so visto9..ive been told use arent even close to that!!!!Wont go into details, didn't with the "other" club. $100 a win, sounds good, close to the mark any way.

stupid money out there now
which puts prices up further.
look at prices in division 1, plenty of players being overpaid as standard has gone backwards over the years

I think the standard has improved in the last few years. There are a couple of guys that get good money but I doubt many get over $70 per week. The average is probably $50-$60.redfred wrote:getstuckin wrote:for anyone out there whom knock it obviously you arnt good enough to get it!!!!!

Bosna tend to look after players with fully paid trips. Gold Coast flights and accomodations paid by club. Meals and Drinks for players. Players were paid for wins coach paid monthly. I agree no good if no prizemoney.
