FA Cup Semi-Final - Manchester United vs Everton

Post by The Joker »

Not too fussed about the FA Cup, but would love to win it still. Would like this starting XI to give some main players a rest.

Starting XI
-------------------- van der Sar --------------------

--- Neville ---- Ferdinand ----- Evans ------- Evra ---

--- Park ------ Scholes ------- Carrick ------ Nani ---

-------------- Berbatov ------ Tevez ----------------

Subs: Foster, O'Shea, Anderson, Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney, Macheda

United are unbeaten in their last eight competitive matches against the Toffees.
Everton’s last trip to Wembley in the FA Cup came in May 1995 – when they defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final thanks to a Paul Rideout goal.
Since this match however, Everton have only managed one win in 29 meetings with the Red Devils.
United won their last FA Cup meeting 2-0 at Goodison Park in a February 2005 fifth round tie – with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring in this match.
Ronaldo has managed to score three goals in his last three matches against Everton and four in his last six against the Toffees.
On the last occasion that Everton reached the FA Cup semi-final, they managed to win the trophy.
United have won all 13 of their FA Cup semi-final ties since 1969/70.
Eight different players have scored for Everton in the FA Cup this season – none of them have managed more than one goal.
United, along with Chelsea, have scored the most goals in the FA Cup this season (13).
Everton defeated Middlesbrough in the last round. In the four seasons prior to 2008-09, the team that defeated Boro’ have reached the FA Cup final only to lose

surprised with the team we put out, but the youngsters did great
created a few chances as too did everton
overall it coulda gone either way, im not too fussed we r out of the comp as i rate moyes as a manager, n will b good 2 c timmy cahill on the big stage
we have bigger trophies to win this season
rio n vidic were fkn great 2nite, im confident about the rest of the season with these 2 bak there

mention about the referee, riley was shocking with 2 major decisions, clearly shoulda been a penalty for united in the 2nd half as welbeck was bought down in the box from behind. if its not a penalty then book him for divin(since he obv thought he dived), and that fieleni shoulda seen red for his elbow on rio. berba n rio crap penalties, woulda had tevez take the 1st 1 since cahil missed, but hey we won a champions league on penaltys so no complaints

but best of luck 2 the everton in the final, they have a gd team and a great manager

Macheda did nothing, totally destroyed by Lescott and Jagielka.

That Wellbeck guy is terrible, dont tell me you guys have him as a future star as well?

Must say that the Man City v West Brom game was a hell of a lot better than that shite put forward by Man U and Everton last night.

The thing that gets me is that Fergie has a go at Rafa for being arrogant about what he did at Blackburn and calling Everton a small club. Then he goes out and plays his reserves team...who quite frankly looked like reserves players. I do recall a saying that has something to do with a pot and a kettle Fergie.
First the rotating...then the Dennis Wiseing...now the punking of me on my show. That is it Big boss...No More!

Obviously fergie didn't really care about the FA Cup, and I think this is because of Liverpool putting pressure on us in the league, thats why he rested most of our first team players. But.. a very very young Man Utd side, going all the way to extra time against a full strenth Everton. If Everton play like that in the final, a full strength Chelsea will twat them 3-0.

What do you mean? We have already won two trophies this season and if we win EPL and UCL they will make it a quadruple! I'll just be happy with EPL though. :P

yeh it dun take much 2 keep a scouse amused

n btw pino, fergie stated the reason why he played his youngesters, we have a massive game on weds nite v pompey n sum players needed a weeks rest from comin bak from porto
the youngsters did great, held a pretty much full strength everton team(bar arteta) to 0-0

final should b gd, a real underdog game now

And all of our strikers were either injured, sick or ineligable.

Yakubu - Out till next season
Saha - Played with a virus
Jo - Cup tied
Vaughan - Just back from long term injury, hasnt played in ages

We havent been close to full strength for a few months now, yet we are still a chance for 5th. Gotta love the current team and Moyes...what a tremendous manager.

Apparently Andy Johnson and David Nugent were at the game in Everton colours.

Boutses.

Man United have won the league, therefor they can get a double and maybe a treble.

It wont be arsenal that denys United Champions league, if anyone it will be Barca that does that.
