Gardens Fundraiser

Post by lefty »

The players are having a fundraiser for Yurek who injured his knee during preseason and will require a reconstruction. Im sure many who know or who have played with or against Yurek will be there to support him.

When - Thursday 9th April 8pm
Where - Parafield Gardens Clubrooms

Special guest appearances by MC Scotty, DJ Golder & DJ Mulls with nudie runs by Robbie.

We've just picked up a player who had played for a club for a number of years, then last year on his Birthday got his jaw broken at the clubs presentation night!

He spent three weeks off work & in hospital & not so much as phone call from anyone from the club???

When he told me the story I just couldnt believe it!!!

The guy you're talking about was a good player for his old club and an integral part of his teams league win a couple of years ago. He was also involved in a lot of work behind the scenes, bringing some great sponsorship deals in. He'll be a good pick up for Gardens or any other club for that matter.
I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

Seems like the only thing the grove are consistent at is losing players that have helped the club by bringing money in,and picking and choosing who they will help when severely injured.

Di Canio I agree he is a great player pick up for our club & is allready feeling right home at the GARDENS,

I just find it hard to understand why they would treat one of it's league winning players & sponsorship negotiators like that ?
Only to loose him to another club, that's just CRAZY!

On the other hand It was a Fantastic effort by our lads raising a heap of money for YIROS.

WELL DONE!!!

Hey Lefty or nugget66, Good to see some money raised for Yurek.. great bloke, not knocking the club but is it the norm to raise money for some 1 that does there knee or breaks a leg playing for the gardens?? I know money was raised for wheazle last year when he broke his leg at the start of the season, i have no probelms there... but y was nothing raised for K.Burfoot who did his knee 1/4 of the way through last season?? he still requires a knee reconstruction to this day because of the financial side of it ??? seems a bit unfair dont you think...!!!
run run as fast as you can... you cant catch me, im the ginger bread man!!!

with out knowing the full circumstances or speaking for the gardens, from what i hear jureks mates at the club helped the club get this together. he has played there for six odd years and is a club champion. making many mates along the way, and i think its those mates that organised it. hope that helps

Yes Cleveland your on the money. Every circumstance is different but Yurics mates organised the night and his mates chipped in to help him out and the club facilitated the night and have provided some assistance as well seeing as it was a successful night for the club. If the boys organised something for the others who have done injuries then Im sure it wouldve happened as well I dont think clubs just hand out money for these unfortunate situations.

I believe that clubs should help raise money for injured players as our's has done in this situation, especially players that have been loyal to the club & given many years service.

Kurts injury just came at a very bad time, we had Weesel break his leg in the 1st game D.B do his knee & then a couple of others injuries & then Kurt's Knee it was just the worst year ever for injuries!!!

We had to draw the line somewhere otherwise we wouldv'e been fund raising for injured players all year!!!

some ppl just play at a club, train, play, get paid then go home. others play for the club and get involved in a social way, this im sure is the difference in these situations.
