FFA National Junior Championships

Over 100 of Australia’s emerging talented footballers will be on display in Canberra during the first week of the Easter School Holidays, at the inaugural FFA National Junior Championships.
In line with Australia’s participation in the Asian Football Confederation’s Boys and Girls Festival tournament’s to be held in May and June, the National Junior Championships will feature highly talented boys and girls from right around the country.
From these Championships, an Australian Boys Under 13 team and Girls Under 14 team will be selected to at the Festival Tournaments to held in Malaysia and Vietnam respectively.
The Boys competition will feature eight states and territories, with the exception of Northern Territory, while the Girls competition has seven teams with Northern Territory and Tasmania not entering teams in the inaugural season.
The Championships will be a busy time for all teams, with the boys playing each day of the week long tournament, which starts on Sunday April 12 and concludes on Saturday April 18. The girls at least get some respite as they have a bye in their draw.
All matches are being played at the O’Connor Fields in Canberra.
