Re: Rd2
yeah we did beat campbelltown reserves on the second time, and could have beaten them the first time round too if we hadn't had to play their prems in the first half unexpectedly. personally i dont think their team is that much new and younger, with several of the players having played reserves last year, from what i can remember. or i could be wrong. but anyways. our result on sunday doesn't just de-motivate metro as you guys say but imagine the confidence level of our girls, having to go in to a game knowing the abilities of the other team. none of us were under the impression this league was going to be like this to be honest. don't think its fair on any one. not just your better players having to play our 'easy' opposition.george08 wrote:Campbelltown are in Div 3 this year. Re: Rd2
Just to clarify for everyone, Wendy or any Competitions Administrator whether is be during the SAWSA days or FFSA days, mens, womens or juniors is not responsible for nor in control of referees. The Referees Association is under the banner of FFSA but is run like a seperate division. The appointment of Referees falls to the Referee Development Officer, which is now Matthew Cream. He is responsible for allocating the refs to all games in all competitions within the FFSA family, he sends the little table to Wendy/Rebecca advising which games are covered and she/they just forward the information on to the clubs.
When you complain to FFSA/SAWSA that a ref hasn't shown up, they don't go and give the allocated referee a bollocking personally for you, they direct that complaint to the Referees Development Officer, Matthew Cream and he takes it from there....
The Women's Dept at FFSA has very little if no control over what referees do and don't do, and they can only make representations and recommendations to the Referees Dept on behalf of women's football. Although at a meeting last year it was expressed by the board a hope that with the transition to FFSA there would be greater transparency between each of the "sub-groups" and that in turn greater communication improving these sorts of things.
Just thought i'd clarify that for everyone, so there's a good understanding of where the frustration should be directed when Refs don't rock up and such!!!

Nicely put Dr.D well done
He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right.

That's a bit harsh. I think we should stick to critiquing performances and not get too personal...is there something about his performance as referree guy that's put you off?
And thanks for the clarification Dr. D. Well done.

Re: Rd2
not really on topic...well we kinda are discussing matthew creams incompetence...
lets not make assumptions then. i learn that we reporters report the facts only...
Fact #1: Cristianos challenge was not red card worthy
Fact #2: Matthew Breeze had a yellow card in his hand
Fact #3: Matthew Breeze spoke to Matthew Cream, then put away his yellow card and took out the red. In that order.
Fact #4: Matthew Cream was not in the most optimal position to see the foul (as the cameras showed). He wasn't even in a better position than Breeze.
Fact #5: Matthew Cream is the worst South Australian ever.
how you use these facts to assemble a story is up to you

And we would have referees (and 2 assistant referees) turn up!
having teams play all at the same grounds a decent idea i reckon. although with that we still wouldn't have the ressies available for the prems, seems to me that most premier teams this year will be in a bit of strife when it comes to having players available for each game, without our reserves to draw on for our bench positions, unless im missing something.
rob, is sawsa park still a terrible terrible ground? because i think that's why we don't utilise it aha. and santos obviously isnt just used by us, but i wouldnt know if anyone uses it on sundays.
