Suspended Players Problems
A few years ago the SAASL website had a list of suspended players on a page of their website..
Surely having this page available to clubs again would stamp out the problem of clubs playing suspended players..
If they didn't want a list to go on the internet for personal reasons, then perhaps a weekly email out to the clubs would suffice ??

Re: Suspended Players Problems
The SA amateur footy league post their suspended players on their site. They include, reports, outcomes, players name, which game it happened at etc.
My guess is there are only so many volunteers @ saasl.

Re: Suspended Players Problems
No need for names necessarily, just Club name, expiry of suspension date, and players SAASL registration / pass number.

I recon It would be good if clubs got the referee report before they went to the tribunal so at least they know what there defending......

That's called natural justice. You should appeal the decision.nugget66 wrote:I recon It would be good if clubs got the referee report before they went to the tribunal so at least they know what there defending......

Re: Suspended Players Problems
yeah right and criminals should be able to see all the evidence before their trials. Here's a thought (and im just putting it out there) if you don't want to to go to the tribunal stop doing the wrong thing like everyone else.nugget66 wrote:I recon It would be good if clubs got the referee report before they went to the tribunal so at least they know what there defending......

Re: Suspended Players Problems
Actually, isnt it a legal right of all criminals to be provided with evidence against them in trials??imanoutlaw wrote:yeah right and criminals should be able to see all the evidence before their trials. COME ON......imanoutlaw wrote:yeah right and criminals should be able to see all the evidence before their trials
The BIG difference is players are not criminals, there reported by the referee's who are interpreting the law of the game & alot of time they get it wrong.....
Players & clubs should have the right to know what they have been reported for & be able to read the referees report before they go to the tribunal!!!
Simple....

Re: Suspended Players Problems
Enforcing Card checks before game would solve the problem. Wouldn't be popular to start off but could become the norm after a while

Re: Suspended Players Problems
With most senior matches, that ref doesn't normally do the b's game as well - should be plenty of time to check cards. But really how often is this occuring (suspended players playing that is)...?Furburger wrote:Enforcing Card checks before game would solve the problem. Re: Suspended Players Problems
We are unsure but it is worth doing a card check to find out, i remember playing e&d for modbury vista in the u/15 league we got all the way through to the final and every game there was a card check and every game someone was found to be "cheating" and it wasn't us once.Fresh Football wrote:With most senior matches, that ref doesn't normally do the b's game as well - should be plenty of time to check cards. Confirming players' identities is not part of the Ref's job. Refer to League Competition Rule 10 (b) - extract below:Fresh Football wrote:With most senior matches, that ref doesn't normally do the b's game as well - should be plenty of time to check cards. This doesnt happen !!! When we have asked to do a card check, the ref says "sorry cant do that ! you are supposed to APPROACH ME 10 minutes before kick off and ASK for the cards"

Re: Suspended Players Problems
The rest is...
(e) Where a club suspects that an opposition player taking the field of play or listed as
one of the substitutes is not the player listed on his team’s team sheet, no action will
be taken unless the attention of the referee is drawn to such suspected player at the
first convenient opportunity (either before the game starts, at half time, or
immediately after the end of the game) by completing the first section of the
Suspected Unregistered Player Violation form and handing the form to the referee.
(f) Once the attention of the referee has been drawn to the suspected breach he shall call
the manager of the alleged offending team and the alleged ineligible player and shall
request each of them to complete his relevant section of the Suspect Unregistered
Player Violation form. Should either party fail to comply with the referee’s request,
such refusal will provide prima facie evidence of guilt and the club and the player
will be dealt with in accordance with the Disciplinary Procedures for Players and
Clubs.
Whether or not the parties comply, the referee shall complete his section of the form and
return it together with match team sheets. The referee shall further retain and return the
Identity Cards of any suspected players.
(g) Where the fielding of an ineligible player is proven or apparently proven, the club
shall if so requested to do so, identify the player to the satisfaction of the League.
Should the club fail to identify the player as requested, it may be suspended from all
further competition until it does so, nor in the case of continuing default may it enter
any subsequent competition or renew its membership.
(h) A club making allegation under this rule without good and sufficient reason,
frivolously, maliciously or dishonestly shall be subject to disciplinary action as
outlined on the reverse of the Suspected Unregistered Player Violation form which
shall for the purposes of this rule be taken as though it formed part of these rules.
Good luck finding said form, and for those teams that kick up an undue stink, there is item H. - And I would remind you that 99.9% of what all of us dribble on these forums is frovolous, malicious and dishonest (myself included), so leave it to your managers.
Ultimately the rules say "Get over it and play the game", but if the opposition team turns out with Damien Mori, here's what you do.
Now watch the league get inundated with requests for the Suspected Unregistered Player Violation Form.
Can I suggest you just get on with it and play the game, and stop looking for excuses for getting beaten.
