I dont know if you will destroy them but u guys should be quietly confident. After last year i would of thought you guy would have no chance. But they are ordinary!couple of good players and thats it.Farm made them look like a div 5 side..They will be closer to the bottom than the top..

Villa played no trial games last weekend due to at least 5 injuries from a mid week trial game.
Don't think they will be near full strength which is dissapointing.

Try our best against a fantastic Sturt side if they are the same as last year....that's what were expecting!!

GL to all teams this weekend.

Nothing big, just remember reading/hearing somewhere they lost a couple of players and had an ordinary game or two in pre-season. Probably bull$hit, but what else do I have to tip on a game with teams I haven't seen play in a while.

Yeah trial games are the indicator of form for the season...

Adelaide Villa v Sturt Marion 1-1
Africa United v Adelaide Wanderers 1-3
Stirling v Gleeson 0-1 (This game being played at Gleeson due to Stirling's pitch being carved up)
Adel Uni (1) v Bosa 1-1
Mod Jets v St Peters 0-1

Some very interesting hitouts first up.

They've lost Goldstone upfront who I rate very highly. He will be a big loss, especially with his aerial presence on set pieces. However, they still have top quality in the likes of Pitrowski, Butler and Hayes. Their captain Hoyland is a solid player too.

I thought they did quite well against us in the first half but could tell that they were a bit under done when it came to the second.

While he obviously scores goals, when we played them last year you could tell the other players were way pissed off with him, being greedy and not passing. Maybe they will play better without him. Thier other Striker played better both times they played us.
If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son

PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

was he leading goal scorer in div 2?
he was quality when playing for stirling - he scored the only goal in our final match that won them the league (arrrggghhh...)

I dont think so, there was a guy from Budapest that won it, plus the guy from cove who scored 9 in one game would have been hard to beat
Dont think Gladstone played the whole year though.

That other striker is rick pitrowski..So good chance he did have a better game than goldstone. As for them playing better without him he was leading scorer 2 years running in the first div..You just cant replace someone like that.

So, Stirling to lead the pack at the end of round one? Bosa could be the dark horse this year - wouldv'e thought St Peters would produce more than one goal at home..?

It's Modbury's home game, most of the Saints-Jets games so far have been tight low scoring affairs.

Villa & Sturt to draw
Wanderers easily over Africa
Stirling to thrash Gleeson
Uni & BOSA to draw (I reckon both Uni & Bosa are going to do suprisingly well this year!)
St Peters to scrape in with narrow win (but only if St Peters can cover the massive loss of Monkey Boy)

Definitely a shame to hear about Monkey and a big concern for the Saints. Sounds like it won't just be for a week or two as well. Hope you are playing again soon mate.
