Which derby matches do you guys like to see the most and why?

For me, even though I am a neutral it has to be the Superclasico. I just love the way the S American fans support their club. Obviously I'm always for Boca in this derby.

And how old is the derby, how many games have been played, history between the two, cheers.

Well, I said neutral because I don't really know much about their history and the league itself. But I rarely miss the deby and when it comes to why I support Boca, because of their colours.

Was listening to Robbie Slater before saying no football matches involve hate. He needs to look no further than the beautiful city of Roma for a good example of hate in football.

There's only 2 or 3 other Derbies in the world that compare. Boca-River and the Old Firm.

I wish I could say the same about Fener - Galatasaray but the past 6/7 years hasn't been how it shoud be. We smash them almost in every game and the support isn't the same anymore.

Fener v Galatasaray is dying and Fener v Besiktas is taking over.

Agreed theres not many rivalry's were supporters of either team kill each other.
For me the first is Pao V Olympiakos
and the second is Roma V Lazio. I love the way both sets of supporters support their teams each time this game is played.

Inter vs A.C is always good and Roma vs Lazio. Both games have lots of emotions and supporters that hate each other with lots and lots of passion. Also stadio olimpico and San Siro are beautiful stadiums which when full of colour and fans creates an intimidating atmosphere, especially with rival supporters in it.

I prefer the Sicilian and the Genovese derbies to Milan-Inter, heard good things about Ascoli-Sambenedettese too but chances are I'll be an old man by the time I actually get to witness one

Cardiff vs Swansea is always violent. Not as many fans as all these others but plenty of passion amongst fans and players, as players are often brought up hating the other team where as some of the big derbies have not so much player passion as they are from elsewhere.

I really didn't know much about this derby until the last year when I actually seen the two play. Although this is a rivalry, still it's a good one.


Well, most only see their own teams game as the biggest but will be better if we give facts about the game as well, history and such.

As I beleive not many would know about Greek/balkan derbies.



Goztepe and Karsiyaka is a classic in Turkish/Izmir football.
Goztepe formed in 1925 and Karsiyaka in 1912. Karsiyaka is a metro district in Izmir and Goztepe are also from Izmir/Konak though most of the people from Izmir support Goztepe even though they're from other districts.

Both still hold the record for the most fans attended in a 2nd league game played in the early 80's (I think), 80,000+.

Karsiyaka are doing good this season in the 2nd div and look like they're going to promote to the Super League. Goztepe are the most famous club besides the 4 big in Turkey (Fener, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Trabzon) but they have big financial problems and are playing in the 4th level.

4 years ago when both teams played there were massive riots and 3 people had died. Goztepe were leading that game 2-nil at some stage but then lost 5-2.

This is actually the biggest derby in Turkish football but it doesnt get the credit it deserves because they usually meet in the 2nd division.
