what do you think about a north and south league
hi just after your comments and responses to the dividing of the amateur league clubs into north and south leagues.
the teams will still be organised into divisions 1,2 3 etc
then end of year a finals like system could be played between the winners of each leauge and division.
this would make it easier on travel , more people would go and watch if it was local.
yust a thought what do u think [/b]

what about east and west.....thier is more to adelaide than just the north and south....obviously...this would not work...and i dont think the north is strong at all....actually id say rarther poor look at playford city...their crap...if they had an abundence of good players dont u think they would be playing premier league and that their would be more teams from up that way competing in the federation leagues....

playford, modbury, salisbury, para hills. enfield, gawler, plus all play in the north . also what about northern players that play for other teams such as ben moore at city
the points is that crowds are down its harder to get players each week to play. so why not reduce travel for everyone and simplify the process
then if there is a finals series at the end of season we would know which is the strongest league

there would be a huge gap in the leagues . look at div 1 for instance . how many of those teams are from the north .
right now a team in div three has the chance to grow at a good pace as they have success climbing the leagues . ya put this team in a div where the only chance is a thrashing , we will start loosing even more clubs then we are now .
not a good idea for smaller clubs thats for sure and not a good idea for players who like to play with real compitition .

For the geograpically challenged, Adelaide is essentially a North / South city over 70 km , the limited east/west spread is not very significant less than 10 km.
For Amateur teams to travel from say Gawler to Noarlunga is a but tough.
If there are enough teams in each area then it works out ok, maybe there could be a North v South all stars game for a bit of added interest.

Obviously n8 you’re a 18 yr old pimply faced little boy who doesn't get out very much without mummy or daddy. I could throw stone from the east and hit the west it's that close, no need for east and west leagues, let alone nth or sth leagues. North is not strong, top 4 from Sun div 1 this year are from the nth, the two team going up from Sun Div 2 are from the north, making 8 of the 10 teams from the North for div 1 next year. What the????
Alot of decent players aren't interseted in training 3 or 4 times a week for bugger all money in an overrated federation league. They worked it out a long time ago, train once or twice a week and spend the rest of their quality time with freinds and family or making a few extra bucks working over time. Unless your getting decent dollars to play federation, which a small minority are, then why bother.

no actually im 19 and im out alot...exactly their is no point to seperate the leagus into north and south that was exactly my point.....that u cant segregate those areas becasue their are an abundence of teams throughout the east and west....
im talking federation thats where the talent is....ametures is exaclty that...if you want to prove yourself and play at a resonable professionaly level and develop your skills you go to the federation its simple....and the ameture teams out north are only strong becasue its a cheap way to play football and they have been around for years and have history....now look at the northern federation teams the last time they where ever competitive it was modbury like what 5 - 6 years ago....ameture league up in the north will allways be strong becasue their is a huge amount of federation drop outs or good players that dont have the support or backing to play anything but ametures....and playing federation isnt about playing for the money and id say the majority of players would agree....

how can u say playford were crap what does that say about the ten teams that r below them. there was a abundence of talent but mainly young and inexperienced at the level none the less they still went the first 5 games without a loss untill a few mature player were hit by injury or suspension so maybe below par would be a fairer description than plain crap.n8 wrote:what about east and west.....thier is more to adelaide than just the north and south....obviously...this would not work...and i dont think the north is strong at all....actually id say rarther poor look at playford city...their crap...if they had an abundence of good players dont u think they would be playing premier league and that their would be more teams from up that way competing in the federation leagues....

I reckon it would be good to maybe have a carnival like the junior Zone teams. North, South, East and West. Players playing for Zones in which they live, not where they play.

Yer thats a wicked idea. So maybe zones will buy you houses to entice you to play for their zone perhaps???general pants wrote:I reckon it would be good to maybe have a carnival like the junior Zone teams.
