You could say the same for Vale.

Bodø can't you read? The Vale didn't know the league put the Cichanowski Shield on the end of the Champions of Champions game simple, my club wasn't aware & all clubs I spoken to weren't. If there going to change it notify all clubs at the start of the season !!!
That's all... It dosnt matter what anyone thinks wether it should stay the same or not cause we won't have a say in it anyway

Goodluck to all teams in all divs both sat and sun lge.Remember do whts rite for the game not ur own club.
i never actually said the vale were being like 7 yr olds as i never posted any excuse from the vale, i simply pointed out that the excuse that nugget said the vale gave him sounded like the kind've excuse a 7 yr old would give.

Personally I think it should be Gardens v Vale. But I was at the meeting last year when we were told that it would now be changed to Champion v Champion vs Cup Winner. I dont recall seeing a rep from Gardens or the Vale that night.

I dont agree with this at all. I think it should be Sunday Div 1 winner Vs Cup winner. No disrespect to Sat teams but you dont bring a crowd with you.

Gardens v Wanderers = 400 crowd
Gardens v Vale = 1000+ crowd

In the two years we won the champion of champions trophy the St Peters crowd would have been less than 50 and against Stirling roughly the same.

We must liken this match to the Charity Shield in England. Cup winner v league winner. End of story. If Sat teams want in then win the cup.

The reason why sunday clubs have bigger crowds is because most are 20yrs older than saturday clubs,

I was at the meeting marooned but musn't have been paying attention ...again!!!

I agree with marooned, keep it the same as it's been for 25yrs... it will cost our club about $5,000.00...

So dose anyone really know who's playing against the Gardens?

At the end of the day its a Trial game! Yes it would be nice to be in it and win it BUT who cares.

And

Whats with the discussion?? The Amateur league runs the competition NOT Lefty, Nugget, Rodent or LRO.

The Gardens are Playing the Wanderers (aint gonna change)

Why dont Gardens play there reserves against Wanderers at 3pm BUT before that at 1pm play your First team VS The Vale!!

Why is it a trial game Im sure any player in the amateur league would like to win some silverware regardless. Hard for you to appreciate it at Gully cause theyve never been in the Chick Sheild

Dont care who we play as long as we win :D

It is a trial game mate, yes people like winning BUT its not the ultimate prize. If you dont care who you play why right on this forum about it? Anyway your the Chairman of the club, organise the comittee and the BBQ and leave the soccer side of it to others! Yes you are correct Gully hasnt played in one...YET! But I have how many have you played in? Gardens are looking good this year from what Ive heard, Steve is doing a great job, good luck for the season!

Isnt that what forums are about no different to talking sh..t at the bar.
As Chairman you should be involved in everything unlike coaches  . Hope you last long enough at Gully to get into the Chick Shield mate and my playing career doesnt compare to yours I admit that.
Everyones doing a great job at the club :D

It shouldn't be about crowd numbers, it should be about who earnt the right to play in it. I think Cup Winner v Champions of Champions is the fairest way with the Cup winner hosting the event.
