Lee is a great man marker and we will miss him and Brenton wants to give the feds a go and was absent for the latter part of the season. Shaun Butler is unsure at the moment as he has started a new business up and needs to do long hours but im confident he will be a part of the set up. Mark Kelly from what I here wants to play Ressies this year but would make a great last 20 min impact on any game at any level. Kraig Andrews is in England and im not sure when he gets back but he will return to us. We are in talks with a few players at the moment and rest assured Nugget you will be the first to know what happens. We also have some young lads I dont know much about that look sharp and seem very fit. Bert is as fit as ever and will play this year, why wouldnt he? On the financial side things are looking good and we have just signed Duncan Basheer Hannon as our major sponsor for the next three years. Maybe another Amateur League first for the Downs to have a major sponsor sign on for a three year deal?

There you go Nugget, now let me know what your lot are doing!
Why does Mark only want to play Reserves.

Nice to see some honesty on here. I noticed you didn't mention any names Nugget

We have 95% of our Cup winning squad training & we have picked up a heap of new players & a couple who are all class..... Watch This Space.....

All positive here at the GARDENS & barring the run off injury we had at the start of last season we'll be at the pointy end come September.....

So Bert going to be a player coach? Thats a very, very, hard thing to do.....
44 out training with us last night with 10 missing and 2-3 more to come :D

Better than last year when we had 78 out to one session. Ran out of room for them all

Hardly, they have a few handy pick ups coming there way so I was told. They will still be a force this year.

Bad Breath Jay Walking, Bad Breath ...

Must you continue to lick the Downs ar$e's ...

have you no hunt in you ?

kick em when there down I say ... They would & have !!!
Surely there is no problem with having respect for a club.

Truth be told, I can't stand the Downs. In two years we only have 1 point out of 12.

Gardens on the other hand, I quite like. In two years we have 12 points out of 12. Scored 17 and conceed 7.

No nothing wrong with respect Jay but there is a difference between IT & ar$e licking though

Yes your right about the 12 points & good luck to your club for that, but our boys won silverware last season what have your 1st team ever won in the 1st Div.......

O That right F*<k all.

So saying that I think the Downs will still have a strong squad this year and push for the title is arse licking??

And yes, your right, we haven't won Div 1 before and you guys won the cup. Hope you feel better now :)

Bert Fuda (sung to the tune of Hallelujah.)

They say that Bert is 40 plus,
Yet he is fitter than most of us,
If you should stand in his way... he’ll run through ya.
Tall and strong and hard but fair,
He’ll win most challenges in the air,
So the Downs are proud to have that man Bert Fuda.

Bert Fuda, Bert Fuda,
Bert Fuda, Bert Fu-u-u-u-uda.

He tried the Vale and he tried the West,
Now he is back to where it's the best,
Elizabeth Downs blood will just run through ya.
So from the front he’ll lead the pack,
To bring the cherished title back,
And the Club will be behind that man Bert Fuda.

Bert Fuda, Bert Fuda,
Bert Fuda, Bert Fu-u-u-u-uda.

Was trying to get myself fitish again after my recons to have at least 1 run wiht the 2 of them, but first session back I hurt the same bloody knee again. ahh well. Ill have to stick to organsiing things.

Have ya had a crack at the History stuff on the new website yet?

Is a great young player, we will miss him.
One of the most consistant players for us last year, and would have been in the starting 11 easily this year

I can't be sure but I think that the sponsorship $ value might be significantly different....the key word in marooned's statement is major.
