LOL @ using injuries as an excuse, Chelsea have twice the squad of any other team, you have about 3 international players for every position. Every team has injuriesyou just have to deal with them.

There is zero chance of Grant going back, it would be like the russian standing up in front of the media and admiting that he is a stupid prat that knows fuck all about football. Hiddink will say no until he gets offered about 8 million a season and then he will change his mind......funny that

Rafa has been at liverpool for what 5 seasons now? i don't think its fair to compare his situation to scolaris, As for injuries liverpool have had torres and gerrard out for significant parts of the season and we don't use that as an excuse for letting united get away.

Guus H has said he is not interested, which probably means he is ...
Zola would love the job but he is short on experience, in fact he is also short ...
Professor O'Neill would like the job but after all his hard work to get Villa up the ladder it would be a sin to leave now...
Moyes feels the same way about Everton ...
Maybe they could go for Little Phil from Hull ...
Or Becks could become the 1st top flight Player/Manager since possibly Alan Ball...

Who knows ... but the one sure thing is whoever takes over will not be there for very long.

Why is it that people are mentioning all these ridiculous choices like Zola and Hiddink??

Look at the high profile managers without jobs at the moment

Rijkaard (likely)
Shuster
Mancini

I'd say its going to be either one of them.

I feel for Scolari, he inherited an ageing squad & was given no money to shape his own side. Why sack him now with important games coming up in the next 14 days, stupid! At least he would have got a nice payout, I would love to know how much we have paid out in compensation for managers since Abramovich bought us!

As for a new manager, I have no idea, I would love to see Zola get it but it aint going to happen so i suspect it would be Hiddink but then again who would really want to take the job unless you were desperate for some quick cash!!!!

We are going backwards not forwards at the moment!
Ermm, sorry to say this but its not "we", its Roman Abramovic that pays
If Abramovic werent at your club, youd be in a dog fight with Tottenham, Middlesborough and co., so just be happy your club can buy its survival year in and year out with the odd trophy :D

A coach that couldnt beat Greece twice in a week on the home soil of the team he coached (Portugal Euro 04  ) doesnt deserve to coach a side like Chelsea  What were you guys thinking to begin with  Scolari is overrated, and Abramovic obviously woke up to that fact 8)

The story is, Abramovic has loaned the spent money to the club, there is still a legal possibility he could call in the loan of 500million if he wished to do so.

Chelsea are never going to get anywhere if they keep doing this.

How can you expect a manager to do anything in 6 months. Wenger and Fergy have been with their clubs for years, one many cups, and got the club somewhere.

Chelsea have confirmed they have been granted permission by Russia to speak to Guus Hiddink about becoming their temporary manager.

Hiddink revealed earlier on Tuesday he was in talks with Chelsea about replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari on a short-term basis until the end of the season.

The Russian Football Union does not want Hiddink to quit his role with the national team but is willing for him to share the roles.

Former PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid chief Hiddink is happy to take charge of Chelsea on a short-term basis as he is keen to lead Russia to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has officially approached the Russian Football Union (RFU) for permission to speak to Guus Hiddink to become the club's temporary coach until the end of the season while continuing to be in charge of the Russian national team," said a Chelsea statement.

"That permission has been granted and Chelsea would like to thank the RFU for their co-operation."

If all goes to plan, Hiddink could take charge of Chelsea for the first time in this weekend's FA Cup clash with Watford.

Looks like he'll work it the same as when he was at PSV and managed Australia
