Good luck to the new scholarship holders.

Will 2009 see a new coach at the helm?

Well, all the girls being offered scholarships have now been told.
Although I know the list, I don't think I should be posting any of it on here yet, at least not until all the paperwork is sorted/finished.
And finally, just for SG, as far as I know we wont be seeing a new women's head coach at SASI in 2009 - KM is still there.

Ps - congrats to all the girls who have been selected

A significant and retrograde step if the incumbent is retained. The time for a new voice. New face and new ideas was due years ago. It should be like the US Presidency. 2 terms and you're out.

Oh well we get what we deserve.

I suppose if we keep turning over the squad there won't be the need to change any coaches because by the time they've worked things out, their time's up!

What exactly are the faults of this coach in your opinion?

Also, who would you propose instead of him?

Congrats to all. I wish YOU ALL THE VERY BEST for 2009 and beyond.

re: the coach. If Adelaide United, Sydney can find a coach why not sasi women' s football team?

Backward step that will amount to nothing. I suppose the new process of turning over the sqaud regularly will keep the detractors at bay!

Hey do you HAVE to be negative at all costs?

If I'm not wrong (if you look at the list of scholarship players) some Matildas and Young Matildas came out of SASI in the last few years. And don't forget Stacey Day who came out of sasi too. I don't think it's fair to keep criticizing the sasi coach when SA players are getting into the national teams. Maybe it's not all crap what happens in SA...

Good luck to all scholarship players!

do you want to be there sasi coach SAD GAL??????????????

- do you want to have to coach 20 girls + fill-ins
- do u want to have to organise training sessions
- do you want to have to attend training sessions, recovery sessions, pool sessions, games etc every day of the week???
- sick girls
- deal with girls who go off the rails?
- deal with parents
- deal with other club coaches
- do u want your WHOLE life to be planned around a group of womens/girls football????????

IM GUESSING NOT. - so im sure if you wanted to be the head sasi coach - KEVIN WOULD ALLOW YOU TOO.
but dont continuously keep saying there could be another coach for sasi - because reality is - NO1 wants that load on their shoulders.

so if you want kevins number - im happy to give it to you if u have a problem with him - but seriously - stop Going on and on and on and on about him - at least he is doing the job...
and there are quite a few girls going on camps atm................

That’s the problem ladies, many of you think that he is irreplaceable, he is definitely not (or maybe he has made it seem that he is). Shorty do you honestly think that there wouldn’t be many fine coaches that wouldn’t relish taking on the role. That little job description that was written was a joke right! shit!! every teacher would do that every day of the school term for a lot less than he is getting paid and not with help of the support staff his got down there. The way you go on it’s the hardest job in the world, give us a break. Why not a women filling this role? Or shorty, don’t you think they are capable or up to such a stressful management position. If the job rates a public service level of say a PO4 he would be getting over 80K great value when he done such a fantastic job last year, what was it league champs under 15, that was C division wasn’t it. Made him look good winning the league like that hey!
Maybe SASI should stop believing in the press that they write about themselves. If they’re playing in under 16 comp this year they will have play better than they did last year that’s for sure as they have already had a loss to Gawler’s 2009 under 16 team a bit different than the 15’s weren’t they.
Too many people have a vested interest in the current set up remaining unchanged and that includes some players as well, we all know he has his favourites.

Look forward to the season ahead :D

i dont think he's the be all and end all - but i think reality is NO1 wants that job......
so u can sit there and say he's a PO4 and school teachers do a lot more but KEVIN DOESNT GO ON STRIKE EVERY 2 WEEKS...
teachers seem to be protesting for pay rises ALL THE TIME.

so dont compare teachers to KEVIN...

also - if there is a fine coach out there - APPLY

finally - if there is a lady out there who wants to coach - APPLY

everyone just goes on about him but no1 takes any action - if u have a problem with him - APPLY

Apply for what! there is no position to apply for that’s the problem.
but I think reality is NO1 wants that job......
Is that what he tells you is it?
Your attitude about teachers just about sums you up doesn’t it?

so you're a teacher then!!!!!!!

anyway im over it - i just think if someone wants his job apply for it.
his job is always open - any coaches job is open.

how does it sum me up? im just saying teachers protest soooo much that they arent actually teaching the kids of today right or wrong because they are NEVER there.......
but hey this isnt a teachers forum its a football forum!!!

No matter what some peoples "views" are Kevin is still the Head Coach of SASI Womens Football. Anyone doing the job would not suit everbody.

Derogatory remarks serve no purpose either way.

Yes the girls playing in the boys comp last year was an abberation, but this was not SASI or Kevins choice. This was FFSA decision. No further comment needed.

At this time people who seem to have an axe to grind on this matter, should take a a step back because there is now more scope/pathway for both Kevin and SASI Scholarship holders with the advent of the W-League.

Good luck to Kevin and the Scholarship Holders. Ignore knockers and get on with what has to be done to be better players and people. :)

hahaha!!! who told you that???

I know as a fact that at least three other qualified coaches have applied and that at least one (female with plenty of experience and a record of success) has been interviewed but that then he got his job back.

There are several women's coaches out there who would take his job tomorrow (who wouldn't in fact??? getting paid to do full-time what most do part-time for free or thereabouts and what many do purely for passion??? Are you out of mind?) but the requirements to apply for his role are tailor made to suit only someone with 'international experience in women's soccer' and a 'record of success' in other things such as players going to the netaional level etc. that basically only he has got in Adelaide. Not all coaches get to be assistant to the Olympic team if they are not already 'in the loop'.

The reality is that at sasi they think he does a fine job and they are too conservative to give a go to a new one unless it's another high profile women's soccer coach...maybe barnett can take it! Good luck with that! And whether you like it or not according to his performance he actually does his job. But don't hop on this forum to say that no coaches would do it because you are making a fool of yourselves and the ones who respect your opinion on the forum. Think harder.

The question of coaches applying for the position of SASI Coach are they qualified
At this time I believe that Kevin was the only one that had the correct qualifications.
With Kevin-Martyn Crook (RIP), Adrian Santrac, Joe Mullens & Anton are the only Coaches in South Australia that have the qualification to coach at this level. This position has to be ratified by FFA (which also includes the boys)
