Post by Keeps »

Flinders Flames is announcing the club has secured a former Super League and Premier League coach for 2009 season.

Toni Szentpeteri started watching and playing football in Europe from a very young age – his father successful in making the Hungarian National squad.

Toni played at State League level during the late 1970s

He began his coaching career at Primary School level where he spent 6 years before moving on to Cumberland United in the Junior structure where he gained his coaching certification s
Stints with the Cumberland U-14, U-15, U-17 and specialized work with the Junior Development squad followed whilst being involved with Cumberland United’s youth academy through the clubs association with Parramatta Eagles / Manchester United framework. Moving on to coach in the senior men’s structure starting with U-19 and then Senior teams in the SA Premier League and SA Super League. Last year Toni was appointed first team Manager at Cumberland United 2007/08 season. After 12 years at the club he decided it was time for a change

He looks forward to his appointment as head coach with The Flames and to working on developing Women’s Football in SA, and will start working immediately on technical development through the first team at Flinders Women’s Soccer Club

Players are still wanted for the 2009 season.
