the winner out of Downs and Vale will eat St Peters or BOSA alive....

in the past a couple of Sat teams would be able to match the Sun DIV 1 teams but this year SUN DIV 1 much much stronger...

BOSA last year were a much stronger outfit than they r this year as were AV in Sun DIV 1 - where other teams in SUN DIV 1 have now stepped up like Downs, Vale, Lion and even when the stakes are high like Inter who pushed Downs all the way on Sun to the 88th minute the standard in Sat DIV 1 has not continued on from last year.

dont play for any of those sides mentioned but come back in 3 weeks and we will see the result of the final - if bets were allowed i would confidently back a SUN DIV 1 side to win the final no problems.

I'm sure most people would have confidently bet on Gardens to beat St Peters in the last round too. Especially since Gardens were the form team of SUN DIV 1 over the 2nd half of the season and were coming off a 3-0 win over Downs. St Peters were good for their 2-0 win, Gardens keeper was the busier of the 2 throughout the game.

Look you may well end up being right but St Peters didn't go through the whole season undefeated for no reason. BOSA while not the same team as last season are still a dangerous team, to suggest that either SAT team will be eaten alive by Downs or Vale is ridiculous.

will be interesting to c.

my thoughts are based on the current depth of Sun amt soccer - playing for Fulham it is the 1st time we were in DIV 2 since 1999 and the standard has improved a hell of a lot with quality teams this year lin DIV 2 ike Farm, East and Vista and other teams like Beach and even Knights who give excellent accounts for themselves.

Seen a couple of Sat DIV 2 games and apart from Wanderers the depth was nothing to rave about.

only my opinion but that is how I see it.

Still think a sun div 1 side will win the final by a min. of 2 goals.

woudn't be a huge surprise thast Vale won and by the score sounds like on penalties.

Downs would have downed a few after winning the league and even though they would have gone there to win it is no huge surprise as Vale did knock them off earlier in the season.

Vale to beat BOSA comfortably in the final - say 3-1.

No penalties or extra time, just plenty of goals.

I think both Downs and St Peters, who came off must win games to secure their league titles last week, were a bit flat. Definitely St Peters worst performance and only loss of the season.

The Vale were simply to strong for the downs today and dominated most of the game for a well deserved win!
Great work lads, look forward to the final

the downs / vale match was good to watch from a neutral perspective, the crowd banter was gold.

sunday teams had 400 watching, saturday teams had 40 watching

Cup semis

Post by sccoby2106 »

The Vale were at their best all over the park and won 5-3 over the downs with conviction.
If they played like that thru out the season they would have been title holders easily.

Bring on the final against bosa and smash 'em VALE
