He can play in Uefa as long as we register him, as he has only played in the champions league.
Keane and Pav up front for Le'Arse.
Gilberto to be sent on specifically to break Arshavin. Palacios to bully Denillson out of the game.

Arry would have got rid of bent if Defoe hadn't been injured, now he will wait till summer.
We only have 3 strikers for the majority of the season now that Defoe is injured, hes played Pav and Bent since he has came and looks like he preffers pav.
Having defended arry, fuck knows why he was trying to buy Jones, Bellamy and every other half shite striker in the premiership.

torres: first choise
babel: decent shot but half the time he can't dribble for shit.
n'gog: looks a bit unco but has a few decent moves. not strong enough yet imo
kuyt: not skillfull enough
babel would be second choice to torres but rafa will choose to play n'gog over babel

No offence but Babel is no front line striker, Im still dumbfounded Rafa has let this happen.
You have less strikers than Everton and they played with Cahill and Afro up front on the weekend

Re: Liverpool Accept Tottenham's Robbie Keane Bid
Liverpool paid 18m for Keane with 20.3m the figure including bonuses, whcih Liverpool will never have to pay. SO we paid 18m pounds for him, sold him back to Spuds for 12m pounds, meaning Keane cost us 6mil pounds for 6 months... I guess it could of been worse... if he stayed the whole and continued as he was... then he prolly would of gone for a lot less in summer, so I am not too fussed.
Evryone was bemoaning Rafa's purchase at the start of the season wondering how Keane would fit into our system... its blatantly obvious now he was not a Rafa purchase!!! Just like Pennant wasn't and niether was Bellamy. You can tell a Rafa signing by the way he trusts players no matter how bad their form, cases in point, Dirk Kuyt and Xabi Alonso.
He obviously fed up with coping it for signings he prolly didn't want and thus I can understand him holding out for more power in his new contract.
I ami still wondering why Rick Parry would go ahead and buy Robbie Keane knowing full well he wasn't the best fit for Rafa's system. The comments from Rafa when we signed Keane went something like... "He can play ina variety of postions, in the middle, right or left". Obviously Rafa was talking out of his ass!!! Thats the type of player he wanted... not necessarily what he got.
We obviously needed a Tevez type of player, who could fill any role from the hole behind Torres, to the wing or as the out and out striker. Keane was not that player, he was either going to play up top or not play at all. He is not that goo in the hole as people would have you beileve and he certainly does not have the pace to pushout on to the wing.
IMO we just need an out and out pacey/powerful right winger... a real top top class right winger. Riera is sufficient on the left without being world class... but on the right if we could get that world class winger, we would be a completely different team... Quaresma would of been worth the gamble...

Re: Liverpool Accept Tottenham's Robbie Keane Bid
While i agree that Keane is too slow to play on the wing, i think his trickery and his tendency to drop back could have worked with him up front with Torres, He played some good games with Liverpool as many of thier supporters have pointed out and then he gets dropped for the next game. It just seems like Rafa was being a bit petulant, weather he wanted him or not surely you have to keep a player in your team if hes playing well, its not like he was suffering from burn out. Even if he wasn't playing in your team, he is a good bench/back up player, a position you now seem like your lacking.

Gilberto...are you on crack mate? Gilberto wont be playing, since when do we use that living piece of crap. He will most likely go out with a line up ofTwitchyarry wrote:He can play in Uefa as long as we register him, as he has only played in the champions league.
Keane and Pav up front for Le'muscat.
Gilberto to be sent on specifically to break Arshavin. Palacios to bully Denillson out of the game.
Cudicini
Corluka Woodgate Dawson BAE
Bentley Palacios Modric/Zokora Lennon
Keane Pav
Curious now that we have Keane whether Modric will start? He has in games where Defoe has played but Keane is more creative than Defoe and we may need to go into this game more defensive, thus Zokora over Modric.. I think we should start Palacios and Modric because Ar5ena1's midfield arent overly strong players and play technically as aposed to physically suiting Modric. Time will tell....

Im not on crack mate, I was suggesting that snapping Asharvin could be the only good thing that Gilberto could be good for cause he sure as hell cant play football
as for your line up, Bentley is suspended for that rediculous yellow against Bolton.
my line up
......................Cudicini
Shimbomba.....Woodgate...Dawson......BAE
Lennon........Palacios....Jenas..........Modric
............Keane.......Pav
Harry signed Chimbonda and he did well against Bolton where as Corluka (although being my player of the season) did shite against them.
Jenas played great when he came on and with Bentley out Modric to position on the left but drift in. Bent scored 2 but Pav is better.

Re: Liverpool Accept Tottenham's Robbie Keane Bid
I read somewhere we needed our UEFA squad list submitted by 2nd of Feb i.e. before we signed Keane, so I guess he's not playing in that then.
I hope we don't do anything stupid like make him vice-captain again. He needs to earn that back.
Will be good to see him back. I was very critical of him leaving, and also of Liverpool for buying a player who was never going to fit into what they wanted (i.e. he's not a like for like cover for Torres, he's not a #10 playmaker, he's not a clinical finisher). I think he'll get a good reception from most of the Spurs fans though when he returns to White Hart Lane.
Now just need to bring back Martin Jol and I'll be happy ...

Your right, Keane not registered in time, we have to rely on Bent and Campbell to fire us to Uefa Glory. aahh well Silverware is over-rated.
Pav and Bent can play in the CC final though, defoe injured

Fair enough, forgot about the Bentley thing....i agree with your choice of midfield then. Although i think mayb Thudd should get a chance in place of Jenas but he played okay against Bolton and probably deserves a start. As far as Chimbonda goes, i think Corluka should still start as he is a better defender and we dont really need some1 over lapping Lennon, he has enough pace. I remember last year all Chimbonda used to do was get in Lennons way.

Umm ... how does that work. He was sold for 20m and bought back for 15m. If Liverpool were paying in instalments, then whatever is left owing will just come off what Spurs owe to Liverpool.Car Park Keeper wrote:I think you will find that you did plus some as you were paying in instalments with a significant payment still due. Liverpool just paid 5m for a 6 month loan for Keane. Not to mention the financial commitment of topping up his wages while he's now at Spurs again.

Re: Liverpool Accept Tottenham's Robbie Keane Bid
There was money still owing on Keane so they did not end up shelling out the full price for Keane that was originally agreed hence the cut price deal (ie 15m) that they did with Spurs. Spurs were desperate to sign Keane, Defoe is out for probably the rest of the season. Harry will try and spin it as he always does but I guess if Keane can rediscover his form from last season it would be money well spent.TDGv2 wrote:Umm ... how does that work. Robbie Keane has admitted there was only one club he could turn to when his Liverpool career turned sour.

Apparantly Keano's captain now as well. Oh well, if he rediscovers his form, I guess all is forgiven.
Now Benitez reckons Keano couldn't handle it at a bigger club. Hey Rafa, how's managing a big club and leading the table with Man U breathing down your neck? How's that working out for you?

Dude are you just making this shite up? where did you get this information?? im pretty sure Liverpool have only spent 6million on keane so far, so what your saying is that we are writing off that other 14 million and giving you another 15 or so? so we are paying 29 for him? the amount you owe us will be taken off what we are going to give you, you lost money on keane, the same as we lost money on Defoe.

Liverpool owed us over 10m. We paid them about 4m. The papers reckoned we offered a swap of Bale or Bentley or Jenas but have no quotes on this so I reckon it's crap.Twitchyarry wrote:There was money still owing on Keane so they did not end up shelling out the full price for Keane that was originally agreed hence the cut price deal (ie 15m) that they did with Spurs. It also says in the papers that we wanted Quresma, he preffered Chelsea even though Scolari omitted him from Portugal euro and world cup teams, its says that inter wanted Jenas or Bentley on loan and we said no. Which means one othe stories are bullshit. Im guessing both 'kin papers, there should be some sort of law from printing stories which involve the following words "it is thought" "Apparently" "its suggested" or myfavourite "Sources say"

Robbie Keane told to return to Spurs or rot at Liverpool by Rafa Benitez
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robbie Keane was last night forced out of Liverpool before completing an incredible return to Tottenham.
Keane, who only moved to Anfield for £20.3million in July, was determined to stay.
But boss Rafa Benitez bullied him into rejoining Spurs after warning he was prepared to let him rot in the reserves for the rest of the season. Republic of Ireland striker Keane, 28, even told Liverpool he only wanted to sign for Tottenham on loan until May.
But Benitez made it clear that the forward had no future on Merseyside while he was still manager.
The bitter breakdown left Keane with no choice and he returned to White Hart Lane for an initial £12m, rising to £15.5m.
Benitez is now set to sign a new four-year contract this week to stay at Anfield.
The Keane deal puts down a marker that he has won his battle with chief executive Rick Parry to be in charge of transfers. Keane now returns to Tottenham with former team-mates Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda, who have been re-signed by Harry Redknapp within a year of being sold.
Liverpool wanted Aaron Lennon as part of the deal, but finally agreed to sell Keane after the London club increased their offer.
Tottenham will have to pay extra in add-ons for appearances and success, and have agreed to match Keane's £65,000-a-week contract at Liverpool.
Redknapp said last night: "I'm thrilled and delighted that Robbie Keane is back at Tottenham.
"He can make all the difference for us. Robbie can be great for this club again."

I would not have said that he wasn't given a chance, whether it was a decent enough run, well that is open to debate. I guess it is up to Keane now to rediscover his previous form and in 12 months we will have an answer.Bodø Glimt wrote:The bottom line is he wasn't given a chance a Liverpool when he had the potential to do so much more.
I guess the next question is where will Bent go, even though he still has a knack for scoring he is much maligned.
But if Spurs go down who will stay
