Former Inter coach Marco Tardelli and current Republic of Ireland assistant believes the Italian teams involved in the Champions League will beat their English opposition.
The last 16 stage will see Inter, Juventus and Roma face-off against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal respectively for the quarter-final places.
The tie of the round will be the battle between Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson's men. Inter last played United in the Champions League ten years ago and they lost as the Red Devils went onto lift the trophy. But Tardelli believes roles will be reversed this time.
Tardelli, who coached Inter for a brief spell in 1999, insists the Italian teams have what it takes to eliminate their opponents.
"Arsenal - Roma? I watch Arsenal all the time. They are fun to watch, almost unique, but they allow teams to play and thus they risk a great deal," Tardelli told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"Manchester United - Inter? [Nemanja] Vidic will be missing for the first game and he is decisive. Rooney could have returned. United could play well and win but I think Inter's attack will put them in difficulty.
"Juventus - Chelsea? I think Juve are more balanced tactically. I think the Italian teams will all progress."

I reckon Arsenal will beat Roma...most people wrote Arsenal off against Milano last year and looked what happened 0-2 at SAN SIRO for christ sake
make whatever excuses you want about that game but Arsenal were better then Milan on the night

ManUSA will rip Inter a new San Siro, but the rest is anyones guess. Liverpool through the back door again, but either way, most if not all teams will stumble when they meet the Red Assssss Devils, they are too experienced and just too good im afraid

Liverpool v Real Madrid to be a corker game (Liverpool a little slip in form [until Chelsea game....and even then not THAT convincing for those who watched] and Real Madrid in some pretty decent form after 7 consecutive wins.

yeah back on the topic i think they are all going to be matches but personally i think the hardest one for an englich club is arsenal vs roma because roma are just finding form now and they have proven to be no push overs in europe. inter on the other hand are playing one of if not the best team in the world at the moment and havnt done well in europe for a while and i think man u will prevail. the chelsea v juve game thats another hard one but will surely be great games to watch cant wait for all of them
