Excellent football today lads, 5-3 win over the Downs.
The Downs didn't even look like a chance to win. The silence from the Downs crowd was golden.

have to admit vale did play wel with some wel taken chances
took the lead early and proved too strong on the day
dwns did miss burt in da middle but all credit to vale to stuck it out

Vale completely out-played the downs yesterday and came away with a deserved 5-3 win.
Every Vale player beat there opponent over the course of the game.

What is it with the Downs giving Gardens crap??? Gardens beat you on aggregate over Home and away games 3-1. Gardens have the leagues leading goalscorer. They Narrowed a 9 pt lead to 2 points. Neither club made the cup final. And yes you won the league for the FIRST time ever in Div 1, Gardens have won 4 Div 1 Leagues 1973, 1975, 1978 (equal) and 2002 Runners up 1984,1995,2003 and 2006. So I dont see what all the agro is about, you won the league CONGRATULATIONS! But Celebrate and get over it!!!

Just thought Id post this in here as well.

I seem to recall a few years ago when Parafield won the leauge after coming up to div 1 after a few years out. That was all they won that year, but they all still managed to say that that was all that counted... WInning the leauge.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it is a different story. Agregate, what we won back in the 70's, leading gaols scorer (which wouldnt have happening if your mob didnt kick the cabernet out of our forward). That dont mean cabernet this year! COZ YOULL WIN F**K ALL THIS YEAR!

Downs are STILL and always WILL BE a bigger club than parafield will ever be. Clubrooms are better, supporters are better, and now, Our first team is better. So get back in your hole, and let us have our moment, and we will see you next year!

Not a bad game.
Wind shagged it big time though.
Daniel Nicholls for the Vale was v.good - as was Billy Karapetis for Bosa.
Big Theo gettin a red card for Bosa killed em. They were starting to push for the equaliser - then last all momentum, it was then a matter of how many for the Vale.
Waas dissappointed witht he crowd after the semi.

Yet again, the game was spoiled by poor planning by the SAASL as well as the gale force winds. SAASL should re-think where it should be played. If not at Hindmarsh Stadium then why not somewhere else, for example Santos Stadium?

The Cup finals are the premier games of the year - they should be stand-alone. Why were the divisional championship games played at the same time?

Re the Cup final, Vale's captain (or the bloke who collected the Cup) won the BOG medal.
