Who is Amateurs leagues greatest ever players

Post by kmaau »

Any suggestions ?

But not to include players with over 50 games Fed/NSL etc experience.

Statistically you would have to hand it to Andon....but he was part of a great team when Inter had its heyday and could lure most of the top players from other clubs....but to his credit he maintained his position in the team at a high standard for many years.

I can't support it statistically......I did however never receive a single caution in my playing days.

Terry Hayes played for Birkalla and Scotty would have played a few Federation games.

I agree I mean ronaldo said he was the best 3 players in the world. He talked himself up, so must be crap.

Anyway, i just don't give a shit about anyone else rather than actually talking myself up.

That would be Lee Honeysett.
Larry Moore (Elizabet City) and Joe Waxman (Enfield) did have a few Federation games under their belts.

Bert is one of the most decorated players ever in the Amateur League so he would have to be up there. In my opinion he did more than Anton - boot stay at the back, boot again.
There is no I in team, but there is a u in suck...

bit harsh! Andon marshalled his defence better than anyone..
conceding three goals in one season says he wasnt a bad sweeper regardless of how he went about his job.

As I said previously, he was usually a key player in what were usually very strong Inter sides.
Having Tissy Simeoni, Dino Gallina, Jimmy Townley and Stu Tyerman in defence would have helped in only conceding 3 goals. Not forgetting how strong Gerry Petitt was on having a solid defence.
