A good debate about the next captain is here http://lfcdownunder.com.au/forum/viewto ... f=2&t=2210 if your interestedDan Agger wrote:Who do you all think will take over captaincy once Stevie steps down?
Personally I think it has to be out of:
Reina
Mascherano
Agger
Torres
I was going to put Alonso but he's not much younger than Stevie..so that probably won't happen.
Obviously I would prefer Agger get captaincy, but if not him, Reina. Opinions?

Re: Liverpool FC season 08/09
Put your hands up in you think Rafa just killed Liverpool's season?!?!
We are strong enough to finish second, but playing mind games with that wily old C*NT has probably made second the summit for this season. Why didn't he just STFU?!?!

I disagree as I think that Rafa has bitten his tongue and held back for way too long as Sour Alex says and does what he likes. He couldn't let him keep jibing our club without a response sooner or later however now Rafa has provided a "calculated response" not a rant (although his interpretation of the English language it gets lost a bit) and that should be the end of it and let now let his players walk the walk on the pitch.LFTWNG11 wrote:Put your hands up in you think Rafa just killed Liverpool's season?!?!

disagree with gabon. i think rafa has heaped pressure onto our players as he lashed out. how many managers has sir alex played mind games with and how many have lashed out. most of our players have little experience in the title race and i think this may put them off. i hope i'm wrong though

I can't help but noticing a slight bias towards Agger from you? lol. Agger when he's a bit older would make a great captain.Dan Agger wrote:Who do you all think will take over captaincy once Stevie steps down?

Personally i say we give it to a youngster when the time comes perhaps young Sami Hyypia would be able to step up to the plate lol. I think Martin Skrtel is to murderous to be a captain. Torres and Masch would make fine captains as would Alonso but to be honest depending on that age that stevie retires the captaincy depends on who would get it. if he decided today he no longer wanted it the main contenders would have to be
-cara
-alonso
-kuyt
-torres
i do not feel Agger is mature enough and i dont want reina exposed to it yet as i feel he could play till he is in his late 30s so time is not a factor for his captaincy.

Alonso if he doesn't leave - or Pepe.
Tommy: We've lost Gorgeous George.
Brick Top: Well, where'd you lose him? He ain't a set of fucking car keys now, is he? And it ain't as if he's incon-fucking-spicuous now, is it?

Re: Liverpool FC season 08/09
NO!! seen him play a few times and hes alright but not liverpool standard. fuck rafa buy someone goodAccording to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has identified Herita Ilunga as the man to solve his left-back problem.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at West Ham United from French club Toulouse for the rest of the season, although the Hammers have the option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €3.3 million.
However, the Reds have apparently been in contact with le Téfécé to see whether there is any chance that they can come to any agreement that would take the Congolese international to Anfield.
The left-back made headlines last month when he reportedly branded West Ham a 'second-rate club' and said he wanted to use his time at Upton Park to showcase his talents and move on to a bigger side, although it was later confirmed that he had been misquoted.
The news may signal the end of Andrea Dossena's time with Liverpool, as he has failed to impress manager Rafael Benitez since moving to Anfield from Italian club Udinese for €7.8 million in the summer.

Insua's on international duty until February 8, which is a shame because he seemed like the only one that could fill in the gap at left back. Now Aurelio could be playing for his starting spot, so hopfully he pulls his socks up.

Eh having Aurelio at LB for a month doesn't worry me. It's like someone else said, he's tidy in defence, just doesn't get forward enough.
