Re: A.C. Chievo Verona Thread
How did Pellissier pull a 7 in a losing side, especially when they didn't score a goal?
Must've threatened a lot.

I thought he played really well, first touch was excellent & held up the ball to open up there defenders. He some decent efforts on goal as well, has been playing pretty well all season & as i said needs to just start scoring now.Laziale wrote:How did Pellissier pull a 7 in a losing side, especially when they didn't score a goal?

Catania fans give Chievo apology
Saturday 11 October, 2008
Catania fans have clubbed together to replace a sat-nav system stolen from visiting Chievo fans two weeks ago in a show of solidarity.
When the Flying Donkeys played in Sicily on September 28, a group of supporters were attacked outside the Stadio Massimino and their sat-nav stolen.
Horrified by the incident, a Catania fan club based in Verona, the Old Elephants, organised a special event to apologise to the Chievo followers.
They held a dinner based on typical Sicilian food and then presented them with a brand new sat-nav to replace the stolen item.
“We wanted to firmly underline the difference between tifosi and non-tifosi,” said Old Elephants leader Nico Gravagna.
“Explaining that the attack they were subjected to certainly had nothing to do with the colours of the Rossoblu supporters, but simply the usual bad lads who took advantage of the situation to commit a crime.”
The Chievo fans were grateful for the gesture of solidarity and released their own statement.
“The organised fan group Club Old Elephants met in their command centre with representatives of the Chievo fans and repaid them for the sat-nav stolen during the deplorable aggression in Catania.
“This gesture goes to show that the vast majority of tifosi are good people. Thank you.”

Friendly: Chievo crush Zagreb
Saturday 11 October, 2008
Chievo are struggling in Serie A, but they saw off N.K. Zagreb 4-1 in today's friendly test.
The Flying Donkeys have been thoroughly grounded recently, not picking up a win since the first round on August 31.
With the break for international duty, they took the opportunity to practice in a friendly with visiting Zagreb, who play in the Croatian top flight.
Antimo Iunco had a great game, scoring a goal in each half of the encounter, while Simone Bentivoglio and Luca Rigoni rounded out the result.
Coach Beppe Iachini experimented different tactical systems to his favoured 4-3-3, placing Michele Marcolini in a trequartista role behind Diego Farias and Iunco.
Chievo: Sorrentino (Squizzi 46); Frey, Mandelli (Papic 87), Morero (Cesar 46), Mantovani (Scardina 57); Bentivoglio, Italiano (Patrascu 46), Pinzi (Rigoni 57); Marcolini (D'Anna 46); Iunco (Tanaglia 81), Farias (Kerlon 65)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bentivoglio & Kerlon both get a run into there legs, both should play against Atalanta.
Good signs.

Latest news - Players In (only rumors)
Emiliano Bonazzoli to Chievo in exchange for half of Bentivoglio, but Bentivoglio would remain with us until seasons end.
Campedelli met with Lotito the other day in Milan, about the purchase of Makinwa.
Carlos Quintana also been talked about, the Argentine defender currently plays for Club Atlético Lanús.
Also tracking Alessandro Potenza of Genoa.
Dalla Bona's name has come up again, as it did last time.
A new name which has popped up is Giuseppe Colucci.
Players Out (note these are only rumors, but will most likely happen)
Iunco, D'Anna - Frosinone
Cesar - somewhere in B
Rigoni - Vicenza
Patrascu - Piacenza
Bogdani - He will go & apparently the club doesn't care where, either Italy or abroad.

Re: A.C. Chievo Verona Thread
i'll take rigoni back anyday
only problem is i'm guessing the deal is probably linked to Morosini which given our league position we will be reluctant to let go

I hope you intend to give us cash for Makinwa and not Bogdani.
We had so much trouble getting rid of our last useless Albanian striker. actually he's still here.

Kerlon came on this morning for the first time in months, and showed more. Kerlon sent a shot from 25 yards, and it skimmed the post only moments from stepping on.
Kerlon>>>> Makinwa

Re: A.C. Chievo Verona Thread
Thought i would bump this thread, we are having a good season.
Monday 18 January, 2010
Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino has lamented the fact no one wants to talk about the merits of his side.
The Flying Donkeys beat Juventus for the first time in their history on Sunday and currently lie 11th in Serie A.
“It's a shame that no one speaks about Chievo's merits like they do about some teams who were once talked about as if they were going to win the League. Nothing is ever said about us,” Sorrentino told Tuttosport clearly referring to Juventus.
“Every now and then you realise your dreams and thanks to my team-mates I had a calm Sunday afternoon.”
He then joked about the state of the pitch at the Bentegodi, which some say resembles a potato field.
“Thank goodness that it's like this. It suits players like us who have twisted feet just fine. It's the champions who have good feet that find themselves in difficulty.”
