he scored a lot in the run up, i remember that.

How many points did they survive by, would the draw have been enough at OT to keep them up?
Finished 3 pts above Sheffield Utd so draw was enough. The great escape.

Zamora scored the winners against Everton, Arsenal, Blackburn in the last few games of the year. Also scored against Middlesborough in a 2-0 win.

Tevez scored against Middlesborough in a 2-0 win, scored 2 in a 3-1 win over Bolton, scored 1 in a 1-4 loss to Chelsea, scored winner at Old Trafford. Scored penalty against Blackburn

So in the last 6 games Zamora scored more winning goals. Scored 11 for the season.

Tevez scored 7 times in the season from 19 starts (as well as 7 sub appearances). Hardly prolific scoring. Took awhile to score his first goal, a free kick against Spurs in a loss.

Those are the facts, it is purely a debate over who was most influential & whether 1 player is worth points (& how many).

As they say at the end of the Gary Oldman film, The Firm. "You'll never stop it, if you get rid of it from football, we'll fight at the boxing or the snooker...."

Let's just say Fisher Athletic would become the Millwall of non league.

Funny you say that Bodo as I was just at their ground a few weeks ago (Champions Hill). Was pouring with rain, took way too many trains to get there, arrived at half-time. They wanted to charge full price at the gate, too which I said forget it. Trudged back to Leicester Sq to watch a premier league game in a pub. Btw the game was Fisher & Athletic 0- Havant & Waterlooville 2 (Qualifying round of FA Trophy).

I think we went past the New Den on the way to the ground (there was a strange smell coming from a stadium we went past so I guess it must have been Millwall's ground).

I beg to differ, you did not go to Fisher Athletic's ground, you went to Dulwich & Hamlet's, Fisher are currently using their ground until their Rotherhithe base is redeveloped.

Upon reflection you are right, they are sharing that ground for this season before they get relegated!!!

The Fish will have at least another season at champion hill, since the council have just rejected the plans for the new stadium in Southwark Park. Looks like they'll be going back to the Surrey Docks Stadium for 2010/11 season, just got olympic funding to develop the ground and it will be used as training facilities for olympic teams in 2012.

They've had some great days though, playing the Bristol Clubs in the 1st round fo the FA Cup in the 80's and managers such as Malcolm Allison, Justin Edinburgh and Peter Hawkes. :D

Looks like it could be big trouble for the Fish Hawkesy. Press announcement from the club.

19-12-2008
In light of the FA sanctioning a transfer embargo on the club effectively ending any chance of Fisher realistically competing in the Blue Square South this season. And possibly ending any hope of the club completing their league fixtures this campaign the Press Team have decided to suspend all news activity for the foreseeable future.

After extensive deliberation we have decided to take this drastic stance over the injustice imposed on us by the league. The player in question claiming breach of contract who signed 18 months ago, carried a career ending injury and never played a competitive game for Fisher.

Despite the club operating on a voluntary basis over the past three months meaning a high player turnover, this league stance is a crippling blow.

The league are fully aware of the clubs dire financial situation but have taken this drastic action all the same.

As a result, the Press Team will not be producing any matchday programmes going forward knowingly breaking FA and League regulations.

We all hope that Fisher can survive in some form for many years to come as a community club back serving the people of Bermondsey and Rotherithe where the Fish belong.

shit! I had no idea about that it had got to this stage, i have emailed my family about this to see what is known. In the good old days, the chairman would have just robbed a bank in order to pay salaries etc..

It shows how bad it had got they had plans for a new stadium holding 7,000 only 12 months ago.

Must get to a game in April, and give them some support.

Reading up about Fisher, it is not looking good. They will probably not exist when i next go back.

Struggling to pay the players, only got "voulunteers" playing now. Players all leaving because of money issues and they can't sign new ones because of the embargo. They have AFC Wimbledon coming up and it's hoped that crowd from that game might give some breathign space but still no good as they can't sign any players anyway.

Effectively it means that the club only has a small pool of players it can use for the rest of the season and will probably not be able to fulfill their fixtures by about January.

mate, stay with me here. We're in 2008. Still with me? Good lad.

Where are we? The Premiership. Where are Millwall? League One.

We play the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool. Millwall play the likes of Crewe Alexandra and Hartlepool United.

Enjoy!

Fine. If your so deadset on what's happened in the past, how does this record look to you.

All time West Ham United/Millwall Record

Played: 23
West Ham United: 8
Millwall: 5
Draws: 10

But in the end, we've always been higher up the leagues than you. That's why there has only been 23 meetings in so many years.

Pff what's the point of making any more arguments?? Every time I do you just deliberately look past it seem you don't have a rebuttal and go back to the exact same thing.

When was the last time you beat us?? When was the last time you beat us?? Structure a better argument or don't bother.

Try getting further than League One and maybe we might have the chance to more often.

I keep going back to it, because you do not answer it. Probably because you know you're beaten. Yes, you are in a higher league (at the moment) but your recent record against us s poor.

That's why we sung at Upton Park in 2005 "you'll never beat Millwall"
