JUVE TOP FAN LEAGUE TABLE

Post by Blue Mastiff »

A survey in the peninsula has found that Juventus are by far and away the best supported side in Serie A.

The Old Lady have traditionally been the most popular club in Italy and the Calciopoli crisis hasn't made any dent on their fan-base.

According to a study undertaken during last summer by the Nielsen Institute Italia, Juve have almost double the number of fans of their closest rivals Inter.

Milan follow closely in third with nearly six million supporters before a sizeable gap to Napoli and Roma.

Unsurprisingly, Veronese minnows Chievo have the fewest fans with a meagre 4,800 stressing their allegiance to the Flying Donkeys.

Nielsen Italia's Serie A rankings in full:
1. Juventus (10,040,000 fans)
2. Inter (5,928,000)
3. Milan (5,818,000)
4. Napoli (2,887,000)
5. Roma (2,493,000)
6. Fiorentina (2,080,000)
7. Lazio (1,791,000)
8. Palermo (1,470,000)
9. Torino (1,153,000)
10. Genoa (1,030,000)
11. Bologna (871,000)
12. Catania (649,000)
13. Sampdoria (585,000)
14. Cagliari (312,000)
15. Udinese (298,000)
16. Reggina (176,000)
17. Atalanta (119,000)
18. Lecce (105,000)
19. Siena (38,500)
20. Chievo (4,800)

Based on 12,000 average home attendance at Chievo home games x 19 matches = 228,000

Chievo tifosi 4800 that attended their home games x 19 matches = 91200

That would leave a deficit of 136,800.

My conclusion:
136,800 travelling Napoli Ultras when they play the veronascum.

*Please note that only 184,504 people live in Reggio Calabria out of 2,007,707 who live in all of Calabria. So.........that means 3/4 of our fans are Reggina through and through.

So it's not our clan it's all Catanzaro, Cosenza & Crotone fans that are Juve glory hunters because those 3 clubs hate us with a passion and they are our major rivals. There have been Cosenza, Crotone & Catanzaro fans wearing Juve shirts at the Granillo with their Catanzaro, Cosenza & Crotone scarves.

The Province of Reggio Calabria (Italian: Provincia di Reggio Calabria) is a province in the Calabria region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Reggio Calabria.

It has an area of 3,183 km², and a total population of 565,866 (2005). There are 97 comuni (singular: comune) in the province [1], see Comuni of the Province of Reggio Calabria.

who cares either way, the article and stats are crap based on the Chievo figure.

Although the order is probably very accurate.

doesnt say how they got these numbers, too expensive to give a national census on which football team people support.

We will the Olympico most games, its just our old stadium we didn't, to big, considering most people in Torino follow Torino.
