Think we can take Everton this week, very depleted Everton side. No Saha, no Anichebe, no Vaughn, no Hibbert and no Pienaar.

Come on Spurs!!!!

Watford 2morrow morning, looking forward to it, hopefully we can use this game to bounce back and be ready for West Ham on Tuesday.

Hopefully either campbell and pav start or campbell and bent. i agree with Ramos now after seeing bent and pav play, they dont work well with each other.

Not getting too cocky. Complacency will kill us. We haven't been that super awesome this year that we can take a game against a Championship team for granted.

The competition's opened up nicely for us. Hopefully we can avoid Man U in the semis and be confident of another trip to Wembley. Couldn't care less if it's the Worthless Cup, it's a cup, that's all that matters.

Yeah you're right. Cup = Trophy = Success = Honour

Plus it's also a Uefa Cup spot just in case we don't finish in the top 8

We were a bit unconvincing, although, at the end of the day, a win is a win.

Our final pass just wasn't up to standard, Zokora we all know cant set up plays for shit, Jenas' final ball is hot and cold, Lennon..dont go there and O'Hara, so so. We missed Thudd for that game and of course Modric. Pav had an average game, his first touch and passing was a bit poor, hopefully he can improve on that. On a whole though i thought Woodgate and Jenas had really good games, on wards and up wards for the West Ham game!

Pretty much agree on everything you have said we played terrible and still won so it must be a good thing. Ohara is shit and cant believe he gets to start before Bale even in the Carling Cup really missing Modric and cant wait for Gio to come back from his injury. I thought Woodgate was average at best and has been a little disappointing for me this season even this morning he was caught ball watching and slow to move off the mark, Gomes had a better game, Dawson was terrible his passing is nothing short of diahorrea hope we reach the final again

Didier ready for the champions!

Didier Zokora believes we will raise our game as we always do when the champions come to town tomorrow.

We are currently unbeaten against top four Premier League sides this season, and now we face holders Manchester United at The Lane.

So Didier is keen to put on a performance in front of our fans, but knows the most important thing is points in our continued climb up the table.

And the midfielder claims confidence is running through the side at the moment, especially after a solid away victory against West Ham earlier this week.

"Every time we play against the biggest teams, we tend to put on a performance, and I don't think this will change tomorrow," said Didier.

"United are the champions of Europe, but it was a good performance against West Ham that we should look to build on.

"We have a lot of confidence at the moment because we're still in every competition and we look to win every game we play at the moment.

"You can see it in training at the moment, every player is eager to impress, and this can only be good for the team as a whole.

"We're still looking to climb the table, which is why this game is important, and if we can get our second win in a row it will be great for everyone."

Was hoping Ronaldo wouldnt play this week due to his injury from last weekend but he looks ready to start, this is extra bad for us when we are going to have BAE playing on him who is always caught out and that is going to be made worse when theres some1 with the pace of CR7.

We need some Harry magic, Modric is going to need to start being a bit more ruthless infront of goal and score some. I'm looking forward to this so much, I think we could be in for something special from Luka tonight....fingers crossed.

It's only up from here for Spurs. Hopefully a UEFA Cup place atleast out of this season. Then next season, watch out. I know people say that every season but it wouldn't be Spurs if they didn't. :D

He always does, i remember when he scored that amazing goal against us at the Lane a few seasons ago...he used to be cool at Inter...now hes just another Geordie bastard.

Newcastle I think are our bogey side, we always lose 3-1 to them..atleast in recent seasons or some score along those lines 4-1 i think was one score last season.
Hopefully we can get some revenge and Luka can be rewarded with his first goal for us, he's really starting to catch the eye, we just need to get him on the ball as much as possible!

Redknapp keen to add quality

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has warned his squad needs significant strengthening.

Spurs held their Annual General Meeting on Monday where images were released of the club's proposed new stadium.

But the meeting also served as an opportunity for manager Redknapp, who took over from Juande Ramos earlier this season, to urge the White Hart Lane board to provide him with money to spend.

He said: "It depends where you want to finish. If you are talking about getting into the top five or the top four, the squad is well, well short of that.

"There is a lot of work to be done to become a top team. I cannot tell lies. The squad is still well short of challenging for a place in the top four.

"We are not as good as Aston Villa or one or two other teams, so there is a lot of work to be done to get where we should be."

full potential

Chairman Daniel Levy suggested rebuilding will be done next summer, saying: "We do not envisage any major transactions in the January transfer window.

"Our challenge is to realise the full potential of our current squad and that's something Harry and his current squad have already started to deliver."

Levy also took the opportunity to unveil images of the club's planned 60,000-capacity arena which has been designed by leading firm KSS.

He said: "The brief I gave the architects was to design an iconic stadium that would be one of the best in Europe.

"My over-riding priority is to re-create the terrific atmosphere we have at the current stadium, within a world-class stadium that offers state-of-the-art facilities."

Team news

Darren Bent is a doubt for Thursday night's final UEFA Cup group match against Spartak Moscow.

The striker hasn't trained since Monday after being laid low by tonsilitis.

It hands boss Harry Redknapp a selection problem up front as he's also without cup-tied Roman Pavlyuchenko, so Fraizer Campbell - thankfully back in training after a calf injury - is our only available, senior striker.

Harry also has a selection headache defensively after Jonathan Woodgate limped out of Saturday's draw against United with a back injury. Vedran Corluka switched to centre-half that day but he's cup-tied and Harry insists he will not play Ledley King in this fixture.

"Jonathan landed awkwardly and his back went into spasms, but hopefully he won't be out for long," reported Harry on Wednesday. "I wouldn't risk Ledley in this game as I want him for league games and Vedran isn't available.

"Michael Dawson was outstanding against United and he will play. Tom Huddlestone or Didier Zokora could also play there so we'll have a look at the situation."

Jermaine Jenas is also sidelined after picking up a calf strain against United. "We'll have to wait and see on that one," added Harry. "He could be available Sunday week (West Brom) or even make it against Fulham on Boxing Day."

Giovani (ankle) and Alan Hutton (foot) remain out.

We need Bent to play otherwise we have no other strikers so thats a real worry. Also Woodgate and King aren't playing which is also bad news. Ill be happy if we can get a draw. Would be absolutely lovely if we can win though :D

Yeh, the team is fucked.
No Bent
No Woodgate
No King
No Corluka
No Hutton
No Pav
No Jenas
No Gio

I wonder if Thudd is gonna go CB and Zokora will go RB?

Then who is going in central midfield...Bostock? Harry certainly has a dilema here.

..................Gomes
Gunter Thudd Dawson BAE/Bale
Bentley O'hara Zokora Bale/Bostock
..............Bent Campbell

O'Hara deserves some time in the middle, hes looked really good when hes come on recently, i think hes made some huge steps forward so to give him some time in his natural position is what he has earnt. NEC has to beat Udinese and we have to lose by two goals for us to go out, it aint gonna happen. We will win with youngsters. Bostock and Parret are the future England central midfield duo :)

Redknapp will target a striker next month as his priority after illness to Darren Bent exposed a lack of attacking options in his squad ahead of the UEFA Cup clash against Spartak Moscow.

Redknapp has Fraizer Campbell as his only fit forward to face the Russian outfit, with Roman Pavlyuchenko cup-tied and Bent in bed with tonsillitis for a match Spurs could lose and still advance to knockout phase if other results go their way.

"Pav's out, Benty's out, we've got to wrap Fraizer Campbell in cotton wool because if anything happened to him, we haven't got anybody to play centre-forward," Redknapp said. "(Coach) Les Ferdinand up front would be handy!"

Redknapp is likely to search for loans and bargains when the transfer window opens in a fortnight, although he is unsure whether Robbie Keane would be available on a cut-price deal.

After leaving White Hart Lane in the summer, Keane has struggled with Liverpool and could be "moved on", according to former Reds defender Mark Lawrenson.

"I like Robbie Keane. He's a fantastic footballer," Redknapp said. "There's no doubt about that. Everyone's got a value and, at £20million, it was a lot of money.

"I thought it was good business. The chairman did good business getting that type of money for him. But, if they don't want to sell him, that's their business.

"He's a Liverpool player. Until the day when they say he's for sale, he's part of their club."

In the long term, Redknapp admits he needs investment in his squad if Spurs are to compete for a top-four place in the Premier League.

Lassana Diarra, who is set to move to Real Madrid after being signed by Redknapp for Portsmouth, is the type of player the Spurs boss would want to target.

"I think every day about the team I would love to have here, and the players I would love to have," Redknapp said. "I do know the players I'd like to have here. Maybe it's only dreaming. One's just gone to Real Madrid who I'd love to have signed.

"I took him to Portsmouth for £5million and they've just sold him for £20million. But that's just wishing and dreaming. That was never going to happen."

Redknapp is confident chairman Daniel Levy will back him in the transfer market if he finds the right players at the right price.

"If we find the right player I'm sure Daniel would back me 100 per cent," he said. "It's just finding the right people without paying silly money for them. I wouldn't ask him to pay a penny more than I think they're worth.

"As far as pushing that top group goes, I can't guarantee I can do that unless we improve the squad."

Without significant investment, Redknapp feels a top-half finish in the league would represent progress this season.

"It'd be a great season," he said. "We had two points. If we'd just gone on normal form, say a point a game, we'd be sitting there now with 11 points and bang in trouble."

Redknapp also wants to bring in cover for goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. He ruled out a swoop for Manchester United's Ben Foster but has been linked with Spartak's Stipe Pletikosa.

Redknapp has players missing elsewhere for the Spartak game. Vedran Corluka is cup-tied like Pavlyuchenko, while Alan Hutton (foot), Jermaine Jenas (calf), Jonathan Woodgate (back), Ledley King (knee) and Giovani dos Santos (ankle) are out.

It means centre-back Michael Dawson is set to be named skipper for the match, from which a point would make absolutely sure of Spurs' place in the last 32. Youngsters Dean Parrett and John Bostock are also in the squad.

"When they've come and trained they've been very good, especially John," said midfielder Jamie O'Hara. "He looks like a real talent for the future. It's good that Tottenham have someone like that.

"Dean is probably not as developed as John, he's probably a bit lightweight in comparison but he's a big talent for the future and those two have looked really good in training."

Would have loved Diarra, but nevermind, I think Harry will get a cheap or loan striker in January,
