Teams in previous years have been alot stronger than the youth teams going over in Jan 09. I predict the younger side will go further under the guidance of Sean noel. The older side has a few better individuals but its no good over there. I predict the Younger side will make quarters, the older one wont go past the group stage.

Maybe the state futsal coaches and players are all in "lock down" preparing or maybe have been told not to go onto football forums.

Any way I did hear a rumour that there were a couple of white city players that made it ths year.

Can anyone confirm?

Ease up tiger. We've had 3 players pull out at the last minute. Money is tight and not everyone can front up the cashola on such short notice. But don't doubt the quality or balance of the team  . And one would be foolish to think that we chased players from a particular club.

Also, it is Matty Else - Dan plays in U16's. Also another new player which I added to the above list - Steve Sangermano.

State under 15 futsal team beaten by Parahills U/16s team in friendly at YMCA.
Apparently some of the U/16 lads have never played futsal before and learnt the rules that night.
Can anyone confirm this??

 Nah,

fast game :!:

the U15's team were a few players short & the game/s were good to see.

Para Hills broght a full squad down n changed all 4 players at once which gave the state boys a fierce (but friendly) game.
The individual skills from the Para team were exceptional and some of them should give Futsal a go next season

either way if the Para boys move and pass as fast as that on the big pitch it will be promising forthem in season 2009

The ref was the assistant coach who was taking notes and, i assume, the score but didn't say at the end who won :?

I can ask him at training tonight if you really need to know . . . .

Cannot decipher the notes but they were all close games.
Besides sending your notepad through the washing machine does that
State boys got a really good work out so many thanks to the Para Hills boys

I refereed that second game against para Hills and i can tell you the game was played in a friendly but very competitive manner. It was a draw......
There needs to be a tighter ship at the back if they are to go far in the Nationals, but im sure the coach got right into them after letting in these couple of easy goals.
The para hills boys enjoyed it and the State Futsal teams and Para Hills benefit if these players gave Futsal a go in the future as it will make them a lot sharper by playing in these small sided competitive matches at Campbelltown or at The gardens in the youth Competition starting next year in the off-season.

Last night saw State U14 play a friendly against Para Hills U16 boys. The game was for 4 x 20minute quarters and a great work out for all players. For the State U14 as preparation for the Nationals and for PH as pre-season fitness, something a little different to outdoor training and to help keep their touch up. The game was played at great pace with players on both sides showing some excellent skills and tremendous work rates. The referee did extremely well and he too was given some work out!

Score line for this "friendly" FOR those interested was 19-6 (roughly) to the SU14.

Thanks to Martin and the boy's, well done to the State Boys and I think they meet again next Monday night to do it all again. BRING IT ON!!!!!!

thats great to hear that the referee had a work out himself as it would have been a good experience for him to officiate a game at this level by himself and 4 x 20 minute periods? gee...I hope you gave him something for his trouble...

no problems Raymond and thank u for your help on Tuesday. That will be $53 thanks for you its half price!

U14 Boys had another good "friendly" match against next years Blue Eagles U16's squad.

With the scoreline something like 22-7 once again over 4 x 20min quarters.

Congratulations to Dion Kirk on receiving the captain's arm band and to Harry Bexis for vice captain. Good luck to all the boy's in Canberra, SEE BELOW for their draw.

Congrats Dion. An excellent choice for Captain from the 3 or 4 sessions I've seen.

ps: I thought we weren't supposed to advise who the Captains were until the Presentation? Oh well.

never mind  oh well

With competitive games still to be played before we leave, best that the captain takes this role up now rather than later.

Win or lose? It doesn't matter.

People place far too much emphasis on warm up/friendly games. The idea is to get match fit (mentally and physically) from these games. And in a lot of cases, you learn more from the lesser score line.

wat games were u watchin red eye?? :clown: :clown:

with the state boyz a couple of goals ahead the last 15mins of the "friendly" game was dominated by the state boyz and ended up winning by about 6 goals!! however u blamed one player for your loss!! when clearly there are 4 other players on the park

marty brought in the reinforcement's for this one not wanting to be embarassed like they were the week before!! well in Ben you are a great player and all the best for next season in the 17's or 19's or even higher!! Well done Big Sam best of luck for u 2 for next season in the 17s or 19's..... All the best Marty for next season with ur boyz u will have a quality team and thank you for the games.

as for the Blue Eagles boyz well done and thank you for a very competitive "friendly" game. With sometimes during the game our emphasise was not on scoring but merely keeping possession. The result was not important however I think u will find that the state u14 boyz just got over the line, with the strengthened blue eagles side finishing really strong and as expected su14 boys tiring after a busy training schedule.

Thanks for the well wishes and yes we will do our best - BRING IT ON
