WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE

Post by John Cena »

my opinion wrong or right , the team needs to play to feet, in the second half against ccm we starting doing it and we looked good on the ball, we need to start harry and quigs, also i have noticed that VB gets pushed off the ball to easy which suprises me as she plays against the men, and please the season has pretty well gone play the young ones and see if there good enough to keep for next season , Is it true that barnett has only be signed for 1 year?

I think that there are too many old legs in the team. One things we lacked on saturday was pace. I noticed the Defence was constantly chasing the ball and players that would make it past them.and Then our defence was scrambling to get rid of the ball.
I still don't understand why ebony is not in the team. she would be a worth while addition, in my opinion.
aaaand I'm not just having a go at older players, because there were more weaknesses on saturday.

Up front i didn't think there was enough movement. That is, everyone was running straight forward and there were no angled runs. So when we recieved the ball we would often lose it to the defence straight away.

In short CCM were alot sharper and looked like they wanted to win alot more than AU.
just my opinion. :clown:

We worked hard to get the ball only to give it back to quickly (either with long or short passes) on way to many occasions and in a lot of situations where the pressure wasnt that great. CCM were also guilty of this but we were worse.
One I was a bit surprised at was Di Alagich that was giving the ball away in this fashion.
Changing the formation or the positions of players may help but its pretty hard for a coach to change this once players have got to adult ages.

At the moment I think that any change will be for the better.
Yeah, why not put them both in the starting line up, get them involved early so they have a worthwhile impact on how the teams playing, rather than them being thrust into a struggling team line up 50 mins in, that is exhausted and has resorted to kicking the ball long and hoping for the best.

and i really cant stress this enough, get rid of the older legs. experience is nothing when you can't keep up with the pace of play.
Ebbs will get in. or should for next season. if not i vote we parade through rundel mall with a banner " Ebbs in AU!" or "AU needs Ebbs"

and i got shot down for saying about the old legs re SB , we need to be careful with how we treat our players as a few might go interstate next season were they might get some respect, and more game time

Yeah, i mean no disrespect to anyone. great achievements by these players, but i am trying to be realistic and look to the future of the AU team.

This season the coach did not had the time to select the squad we would liked to have seen due to the short period to prepare. The squad obviousley was put together to be able to play straight away which needed some more experienced player. Next season the coach has 10 month to select and prepare the team which definetely will see different faces. I believe this season is good to find out our strenght and weaknesses so we can address this nect season. We know how many good younger players we have. So we all should be positive and support the team and the coach.

yeah thats true.
the team was put together very quickly. spose we had to do what we could with the time we had. Fair enough.
are there trails next year? do u think they would be like this years or will players be scouted out and asked to come out and train? or something.

Not sure about the procedure. Would like to think the coach already has some of the players in mind and select the others throughout the frist few weeks into the premier competition. I would think the coach will have trials as well as select players to come out to training for selection. Could have an interesting impact into the premier league competition next year with the ruling that you have selected 11 players in your team which cannot be replaced except if they injured or sick to get approval by the FFSA.

All Prems and Div1 clubs have to nominate 11 players who can only play for their Prems or Div1 squad (ie cant play for any other teams in their club).

Thats rediculous. Why? Are teams trying to flood the reserves?

Not quite correct as I understand it.
A Prem side or Div 1 side can replace their whole 11 on field players or whole squad if need be just those 11 nominated can't play for another team within the club.
Can't see why trials or AU duty would make a dramatic impact other than giving other players a chance to play at the highest level.

So 11 players per club are guaranteed not to be dropped? Imagine bringing that into mens football, that just removes any competion for places.

More like teams were dropping their Reserves to Div 2, 3 and 4 (whatever their club offered as the next lowest team), and with the removal of the Reserves league to "spread the talent pool and strengthen Division 1" they implemented this rule to protect the social aspect of the lower leagues from genuine Prem players getting dropped to divisions well below their capabilities/skill levels

A tiny amount of brain work could have easily come up with multiple solutions to solve the problem of stacking teams as compared to a system which guarantees 11 players Prems or Div 1 all season regardless.

I know for a fact they did in our case.

Some of my clubs concerns were more than adequately addressed, keeping in mind that the scope of the SAWSA Board stretches across both social and more competitive divisions and they have to come up with solutions that meet the needs as far as is practical of all members.

We are a very diverse group in the womens game, and it would be impossible to satisfy the requirements of each group 100%.

Actually I didn't say "no" i said I'm a neutral

And you can still be a part of a club without being actively "involved"
