I am more than a little astounded about what I am reading, so much so that I normally would not sink to the level of putting anything on this belittling forum. I have noticed a few posts that show a lack of knowledge that I feel I need to set you straight. Gubs, SB scored in the cup final. Yes someone else could have taken the penalty but the coach had enough faith in SB 's ability that she was told to take all penalties. For those of you that think there is someone younger to fill SB's position and 'run there by the way it's their heart out, I would love to see that. SB runs her self into the ground in every match she plays, it is not a question of her turning up to every training and she will get fitter, it's about player management, she knows what is best for her body unlike some of the other elite teams who are hand fed and told what is best for them. I agree that SB is brilliant and maybe she has not been playing in the position that would bring out her best but 3 goals... she must be doing okay!

It is a real pity that we do not have more players with the same passion and desire that SB has. She is a player that has had to fight her way to the top and by the way she has played at every level this game can produce, and she brings this fighting passion into the game. The problem with people is that they expect SB to be on fire every game and be the stand out player in all games. Well my question to you is if we have so many better players, why have they not stood out in these games. Why are you not quick to comment on these players? Is it because they are younger and you don’t expect as much from them?

It is a shame that the people who post comments on this forum do not put more effort into making themselves a better player or putting something back into women's football. I would like to take this opportunity to thank SB for putting so much back into our sport and do you know what as long as SB is still standing and can take a free-kick I would keep her in my team.

If anyone wants to make derogative comments about SB it shouldn’t be about her playing ability but about her hair, especially after half time and the April Month in the Matildas Calendar

My final comment, get off SBs back, start supporting her and be proud that she plays for Adelaide and has represented our state with so much pride for so long.

my mistake, i thought she missed her penalty in the shoot out

i never said she wasnt a good player, just think she would be better suited to diff positions

these women that represent adelaide united must be open to public scrutiny. ppl are paying to watch these ladies play and they have every right to comment on the way they think the team will benefit and who they believe isnt performing. this has not been just restricted to one player either. ppl are allowed to view their opinions on what they see. i agree sharon is a champ and she does belong at this level, however if ppl dont like what they see then they wont come back

bec, if you dont like it dont read it, thats what forums are all about , people giving there opionion on different matters, i for one say yes SB has been great for this state , but at the age of 37 and hardly trains has struggled with her fitness, do you think she will play next season, i think not so why not give someone else a go that is going to play next season ,if they dont be careful they can come bottom and we dont want that, SB should let a younger fitter player play cause the team is looking to the future and playing a 37 yo will not help your future, i have been to 2 games and at both she has struggled,

I think that a weakness of the online forum format is that people say things that they would not be willing to say to someone's face. Whereas in the past, if we had these conversations with our mates over a beer at the pub, no one would ever know about it, least of all the person we were talking about. It's a shame that some people feel as if this format gives them the right to be disrespectful, because, to be honest, posting on an online forum is the same as shouting with bull horn from the Westpac building. Everyone hears it, including the person you are being disrespectful to. In this case, Sharon Black is the absolute last person that deserves anyone's disrespect. She gives her all on the pitch, and she gives back to the game, having coached U12 state girls this past season. She was an awesome coach. You may say that she's a public figure and should expect people to dissect her every move on the pitch- I disagree. At the very least Sharon Black, and for that matter all of the players who give so much of themselves to the game, deserve RESPECTFUL criticism. So if you're not willing to say it to her face, don't post it on a forum.

but this forum is for the discussion of womens football. people are allowed to openly talk about what direction they believe the team should be taken. SB should not be offended by these comments as they are not directed at her personally. they are comments that are meant to benefit the team from the supporters point of view

SB need not be offended. age, height, weight are the oldest excuses used

thats right gubs , its not SBunited , its Adelaide United, and as a supporter that pays to watch the games I have every right to comment on what I think can be done to better the team, if we cant voice our opinions then if the people dont like what they see they wont come and watch them play anymore and what will happen then, no more Adelaide United Womans Team

Cheryl Salisbury anyone. She's up there with SB age and personally i dont think our jets coach is going to drop her for a "younger, fitter" girl. She doesnt train every night. In fact i cant think of the last time she trained with us. U need experience in the team.

I vote keep SB!
