Peter will not be coaching us next year but will still be staying with us (from what I hear) which is great news. I would think that the committee would need to appoint a coach B4 pre-season dates are set.

Any news on this front?

Mavromooni, I was thinking of pushing for the keeper position myself this year, but if LFC8 decides to put back on the boots and claim it back as his, I don't think any of us have a show.

id love to see LFC8 come out of retirement to put the gloves back on

we need to see him come for those high crosses again and giving the forwards one of his 60m belters to run onto!!

i offer my coaching expertise if the following conditions are met:

- RAPTORS FC cover the cost of flights and accommodation between melbourne and adelaide each training session and on match day
- i get free charcoal chicken when i want, where i want
- the RAPTORS no. 9 Guernsey is retired for all eternity, with a life size statue of the inaugural golden jacket winner erected in the clubrooms

my coaching credentials are well publicised, but if for some reason you have been living under a rock and am unsure what i'm capable of doing to a team, then look no further than my last coaching escapade:

coach of Metro Stars u/12 C team. within 2 years they were the u/14 As.

enough said.

i will give until 5.00pm EDST for a raptors official to personally contact me. i'll be waiting on the green bench in front of the Prince of Wales Hotel, Fitzroy Street, St Kilda

i'll be the one wearing a shiny golden jacket

Sorry guys, but after my nephew's effort in the second half against Salisbury Inter this year I would think he would be the logical replacement for the indespensable yet retired John Hatsi.

Thoughts???

Hey Popov, any developments on the coaching front?
Sacred Junes offer seems very tempting, but I am not sure there would be enough time during the half time break for him to talk about both the teams performance and some of the goals that he scored last season.
How is it all going in the backwater Sacred? Have you spoken to anyone from a club there yet?
If so, are their chicken wings as good as ours? I wouldnt think so!

Also, has the club considered the temptation of the metro league? are there any benefits in a possible move, apart from the referee situation from what I can see.

Hanging to get playing again, its amazing how the hunger comes back if you dont kick a ball during the off season.

There's always enough time to indulge in enjoyable recollections of past events.

How is it all going in the backwater Sacred?
Going really well. Working hard but enjoying it

Have you spoken to anyone from a club there yet?

No, haven't spoken yet. i thought i'd just wait it out, let the offers come to me. but obviously word hasn't spread as quickly as i'd hoped for in the off season. and out of respect for Raptors FC, i will refuse to eat at any club that does offer chicken wings, because surely they won't even be comparable. i mean, it's not every day i write a song about chicken wings and then sing it in front of a room full of drunk men.

Also, has the club considered the temptation of the metro league? are there any benefits in a possible move, apart from the referee situation from what I can see.

I never had any strengths to begin with, and definitely vision was impaired on most occasions as I spent most of the season looking at the back of you making all those solo runs to no aveil!

I'd have thought you guys would have been pretty comfortable with re-appointing last years coaches. Do you (like us) always advertise and re-interview etc.. OR was one of them not available this year?
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

Unfortunately last years coach has chosen not to continue,as he is likely to ge going overseas next year and could not take on the responsibility of a full season. Great to hear that he is likely to stay on at the club as a player, he is a quality player and will further bolster a strong Raptors playing list.

Great news to hear that a former raptors coach has taken on the role once again. All of those that have been coached by him in the past will be pleased to hear that he has decided to take on the job. I am expecting a solid pre-season and a historically fit raptors side under his supervision. I have heard that a few players are going to be returning from their stints at state league & premier league clubs next year, he is going to be spoilt with options.

It is almost 2 years since this topic was started on the forum, we should celebrate the anniversary at the maid & magpie the same weekend.

Yes, the fox will be taking charge of a very determined group of players this year, damn shame that you will not be around to further strengthen our playing stocks Sacred, I really enjoyed linking up with you down the right side of the park.
I was always excited about providing those decoy runs to create the room down the middle of the park so that you could score your left foot cracker.

By the way, are the rumours that I heard about some of the Italian Serie A players true? If so, it is all starting to make sense, I knew it was not a coincidence that they all looked like homos!

Yes the club is pleased to announce Ang Pezos as first team coach for season 2009.
The club couldn't look past the exceptional job he did as an assistant coach with our C2 team in 2008 in helping guide the team to the premiership.
So good luck to Ang in season 2008, details of pre-season happening i'm sure will appear on page 33 of this thread shortly.

I hear there is possibly an even bigger announcement looming for a c team coaching position. Maybe you can enlighten us all LFC8???
