Yeah and that was against quality opposition wasnt it!!!
Lucky you didnt play the Vale the week after you got SMASHED by GARDENS, sorry what was that again, SMASHED by GARDENS cause it would have been a different result/story
Rumour has it Burt is out for 2 weeks suspended
Lets see how well you get on without Burt this week and next
Too much pressure on the young over rated over paid Elizabethians

Settle on fellas, last week when I drove down Salisbury Hwy thru Gardens all I saw were bunches of daisies and pansies.
It'll be tough on Sunday at the cow paddock Udderdown. My attention will be diverted from the Florina, Westies game to see if the maroons have it in em. I'm hoping they do as it's been 40 years or so in the making and if there's one team I detest it's the Gardens.
Let's hope Lion have some roar left in them.

Another day closer to the Downs having to wait another year to try to win there first Div 1 title.. Ohh the pressure must be hard to handle out @ Elizabeth!!!
Gardens finishing the season strong and the Downs stumbling to the line
big weekend ahead for the two teams..
I know i wouldnt want to travel to Inter for the last game of the season and to try to win the title.. its a tough road trip with those small changerooms! Lucky Downsclown1 will be at the show selling showbags so there should be a bit more room in there..
Gardens playing with nothing to loose Downs with it all to throw away!!!
Come on Gardens one more to go

could history repeat itself again .. just like 1978
extract from Gardens History
1978 turned out to be quite a controversial year for the club and in particular the "A" team when they shared the title with Salisbury Inter after a storming finish to the season.
Due to earlier Federation Cup commitments we found ourselves in the position of having to play Madison Park in the last fixture for the year on their ground and needing to win by five clear goals to take the title from Inter and this with all the Inter people on the sidelines barracking for a Madison victory!
The spectacular result of a 5-1 victory to us and the bizarre nature of the goals - a penalty plus two own goals - coupled with the excitement from the spectators led to all sorts of charges which were pushed to such an extent that the League were forced to hold a special enquiry into the match and it's implications! The outlandish charges of bribery against the club, and Jock Coull our coach were proven groundless and on reflection the club's only regret in the matter is that we did not win 6-1 thereby depriving Inter of a share in the honours!
One fact that seemed to have escaped the League management and our accusers was that the match was controlled by official linesmen as well as a referee yet nobody accused them of any corruption - a laughable incident now but dreadfully real in 1978
