delfino... man if you werent such a champ, i would be ripping into you right now... about how Assnal lack experience, they have no holding midfielder (not saying they dnt have good young central midfielder, they dnt have a top class holding cm) and their inactivity in the transfer market has cost them big time this season!

its ridiculous, Denilson is a good prospect but he was fucken USELESS last night, gave away every pass.
Diaby is good but just held onto the ball a tad too long at times, very good footballer though.

Positives for me were Song, RAMSEY (played brilliantly when he came on), Clichy and Djourou
Silvestre had a solid 1st half but the goals were just too much space given to their midfielders to run with the ball, so for me the goals were of fault to the midfielders originally but in saying that Clichy or Silvestre should've cleared that 1st one

On the emphatic scoreline…
"We had a good focus and I believe it is a flattering victory for Manchester City today. We conceded in stoppage time [at the end of the first-half] and before that they had not created much. We were quite in control but after the goal the game turned and they played on the counter-attack. We played into their hands.

i have slowly come to some conclusions about what i beleive r problems and some solutions. i know im gonna get torn a new one for some of them. but i'll say them any way

#1 - get rid of gallas (causes a lot of our goals, obviously doesnt really fit in with the playing group as bein a young side they probably have a very differant outlook on the sport then him)

#2 - need a defensive minded midfielder (not an out and out cdm) perhaps inler, yaya or lorik cana could fill that gap.

#3 - need less squad players and need to realise that while some of our young guys have great talent and huge potential perhaps we rnt the place for them to reach it (eg denilson, song, diaby, djourou, bendtner huge fan of these guys dont get me wrong but we cant just say they need more game time blah blah blah anymore they have to start stepping up now or we have to let go of at least 2-3 of these guys)

#4 - adebayor (has an attitude problemm, not sure he REALLY wants to be at arsenal and seems more harmful then good in a young and impressionable side

#5 - striker consistancy (as good as rvp and co are none are nearly consistant enough. even though rooney doesnt score all the time he is always creating if nothing else we dont have that)

#6 - INJURY PRONE PLAYERS (look at the quality of players we r regularly missing rvp, rosicky, eduardo, walcott(now). we always have at least 2-3 starting 11 out as well as at a minimum of 2-3 top 7 choices for replacements out.

Don't agree on some points, especially about the strikers.

Eduardo is the best striker down at Arsenal, when he is fully fit. Before his horrific injury he was slamming them in, his club & international record speaks for itself.

agree, but will he be the same ever again only time will tell. adebayor obviously has an attitude problem and is seemng to not really fit in any more. rvp for the past few has been great for three weeks then injured for 8. we finally have him fit and he is missing at least 1 sitter a game. bendtner is to inconsistant also (i believe he will get there though) and vela is to inexperienced cant blame them they need time but we dont have. if we have to poor a season here i really think we will lose cesc, which we arent going to be equipped for for another couple of years.

we have so many chances week in week out and we aren't getting the results our build up deserves. we lack that absolute finisher (which yes i know is eduardo but thats still a waiting game and i also believe vela will also be this player given some more time)

Arsenal name Fabregas as captain

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has chosen 21-year-old Spaniard Cesc Fabregas to replace William Gallas as captain.

Gallas, 31, was stripped of the captaincy for Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Manchester City following controversial comments about his team-mates.

But Wenger revealed the Frenchman will play in the Champions League group game against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday.

Wenger said: "Fabregas will be the captain, permanently. I do not have to explain to you why."

He added: "I believe the captain is the voice of the club towards the outside, and is one of the leaders of the team.

"However, I do not believe in just one man in the dressing-room who sorts out all of the problems.

"A successful team is a shared leadership inside the dressing room. Fabregas will be one of the leaders, but not the only one."

Gallas was widely criticised last week for publicly accusing some team-mates of in-fighting, insulting behaviour and lacking bravery.

His captaincy has been under scrutiny since a game against Birmingham last season when he kicked an advertising hoarding and remained sat down on the pitch for several minutes following the final whistle after Arsenal conceded a late leveller.

He was left out of the squad for Saturday's humbling defeat and forced to train on his own in London, but was back in the fold for Sunday's training session and is set to win back his place in the side.

"Gallas will play on Tuesday, but Cesc will be the captain, I have made that decision," said Wenger.

Asked if he thought he had made a mistake over the appointment of Gallas, he said: "No, I do not regret making him captain in the first place."

Wenger believes Gallas, who signed for the club from Chelsea in August 2006, still has a big future at the Emirates Stadium.

"William is a player that I rate and a man I rate. I have a big respect for him. He was working as captain in a very difficult media environment," said Wenger.

"He was under big pressure from the press and at some stage you do not want that high pressure to affect him or the team. But for the man and player I have a big respect.

"I cannot stop suggestions. For me he is a player who is committed to the club and can be even stronger as a player.

"He took all the problems of the team to his heart. It can be a new start for him and make him stronger."

Fellow French defender Gael Clichy, who was tipped by some to take over as skipper, says he believes Gallas has been harshly treated by the English press since the Birmingham game.

"For seven months we were top of the league and William did not have any critics, but one moment, one game, that is all it took and everything turned then," said Clichy.

"The media have tried to get into people's heads, saying he is not good enough, but he has been sensational for us.

"He is a great player and we all want to tell the fans that we respect William a lot, he adds experience to our team and we want to achieve great things together."

Arsenal are already rank outsiders to win the Premier League, lying in fifth place, 10 points behind Chelsea and Liverpool having lost five league games.

The Gunners have picked up only 11 points from a possible 27 and, coupled with the captaincy situation, Wenger has come under increasing scrutiny as their season threatens to fall apart.

But the Frenchman said: "When you do not win, nobody jumps off the roof, but the frustration does kick in.

"It is a good opportunity now for us to show we have strength and ability - you know how it works, you go from fantastic to a catastrophe, but real life is somewhere in between.

"Even if we are frustrated right now, it is not all doom and gloom. We have a strong belief in our ability and we have a good opportunity to show we care about the club tomorrow."

WEST Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is facing the biggest battle of his fledgling managerial career as he tries to hang on to rising England star Matthew Upson.
Arsenal are desperate to re-sign the centre-half in January with former skipper William Gallas set to leave the club after publicly criticising his team-mates.
But Zola, who was thrilled by his defender’s man-of-the-match performance for England against Germany on Wednesday, is adamant Upson is going nowhere.
Zola said: “Matty is not for sale either now or in January. I don’t have to sell any of my best players. I have been promised that.”
The Hammers boss also received dressing-room support from Welsh international defender James Collins who is beginning to forge a good partnership with Upson, who Arsenal sold to Birmingham in 2003.
Collins said: “We have to keep hold of our best players. It’d be bitterly disappointing to see anyone leave in January.
