0-0 40 mins in, Bahrain well on top at the moment, but we are just starting to show signs of settling

Re: Socceroos LIVE on SBS Radio
HT 0-0, commentators need to get their heads out of the sand, it will never be an easy task to play away in Asia, and to talk of us as an Asian powerhouse that other teams all want to beat is a bit too much to take. In our favour, they have thrown quite alot at us in the first half for no result. A draw here wouldn't be a total dissaster, considering they have got in behind us probably 3 times and we have created 1 great chance for Kewell. Kennedy isn't being given an inch, our only outlet ATM seems to be balls from wide areas.
Re: Socceroos LIVE on SBS Radio
0-1 to australia, scored in the 90th min or thereabouts, outplayed by bahrain tonight, couldnt seem to get our game going and bahrain were unlucky but sort of felt we would steal a goal at the end, tough road trip and the going home with the result, will we take it
Re: Socceroos LIVE on SBS Radio
0-1 FT - great finish to get us the 3 points, some great last ditch defending from Cullina, but how did we pull that off? Bahrain were the better footballing side, we were just better professionals I guess. Pim pulled no punches in the press conference, he straight away acknowledged they played well, not just blaming the pitch/preperations. Also he was quick to comment that if we play like this in our next games we can watch SA WC2010 from home. A few key issues were hampering our available squad: Cahill isn't fit ATM, No Emerton, McDonald or Grella and Coyne and Carney aren't playing regular club football nor Sterjovski off the bench. If we sort this out, and possibly get Viduka back , we will have a much stronger sqaud, but on the night clearly second best but we got the 3 points when for most of the 2nd half it looked like we would get none.

I liked the look of the two Nigerian-Bahrainians... I wonder how much they are being paid ??
Re: Socceroos LIVE on SBS Radio
One of their strikers was named the Shevchenko of the middle east. After last night perhaps they mean like when he played at Chelsea.
Stejovski is looking to leave Derby County ASAP Robbie slater said, and he was linking him to the Gold Coast FC, Cullina is also linked. You would have to wonder if his internation career would suffer at all? Less games but atleast some games will be good. If PSV want Cullina to stay, which is the word on the street, It would be surprised if he comes home now.
