The move of Thomas Gravesen to Scottish champions Celtic has stalled after the Danish midfielder left Glasgow having failed to agree a contract and his club future still up in the air.
A £2 million fee had been agreed with Real Madrid and it's believed personal terms of around £45,000 a week had already been thrashed out, however the deal has now come to a standstill after doubts were raised over Gravesen's medical.
It is believed that Celtic chiefs are concerned about the 30-year-old's level of fitness having not played regular first-team football over the last 12 months and suffering a knee injury in 2004.
Any chance of the deal being revived before Thursday's transfer deadline looks unlikely as Gravesen has now joined up with the Danish national team in preperation for a friendly against Portugal on Friday and their opening Euro 2008 qualifying match against Iceland next week.
Newcastle, Bolton, Everton and Middlesbrough have also been tracking the powerhouse midfielder.
I have also heard on some Liverpool forums that Jan Kromkamp's agent is in Glasgow for a possible loan deal with a view to permanent switch, so there is at least some goods news for the hoops
