Atletico Madrid striker Mateja Kezman signed a four-year contract with Turkish club Fenerbahce on Monday. "Im here to win a lot of trophies and score a lot of goals," the Serbian international told a news conference. "I think they have a lot of quality and with a coach like (Brazilian) Zico we have the capacity to win a lot."
The 27-year-old, dropped by Serbia after a poor FIFA World Cup in Germany, joined Atletico from Chelsea in June 2005. Media reports said Chelsea had paid PSV Eindhoven a fee of nine million euros ($11.50 million). Kezman scored 105 goals in 123 games for PSV but only managed four goals in his one season at Chelsea.
He also failed to live up to his billing at Atletico, scoring eight times in 30 Primera Liga appearances. Kezman was also pushed down the pecking order there by the arrival of Argentine forward Sergio Aguero and Spanish striker Mista.
