OK first you need to check your calendar, because the 20th is a Thursday on mine.
Secondly, that is right between 2 huge rounds of Serie A, one of which contains the Rome Derby, the other which contains the Derby D'Italia between Juventus and Inter (amongst other massive games).
and you think that these clubs on a non-FIFA date will release their big players??
hahahahahah lock in a Greek win right now because I cannot imagine Lippi having anything other than a 3rd string, or under-21 side available for this clash.
In fact there has not even been news on it, other than the fact it exists as its on the FIFA website. Juventino, you heard anymore????

Care Factor = ZERO. Its a friken friendly hellas08, its little girls like you here in Adelaide who make it a bigger deal than it really is. Dont care if we win 5 nil or lose 10 nil, its not going to get us to the World Cup because we are in different groups

Nothing
EDIT - since it is just before the Derby d'Italia we better not have our players going off to a meaningless friendly. So no Buffon if he is fit in time, no Chiellini and no Camoranesi.
Greece never takes them seriously so you guys shouldnt have to. i think we will be using young guys anyway. guys like lazaros, malezas etc who we will be using next WC.
match is on setanta sports australia
at 8:45 eastern time so 8.15 our time
delayed though.
best bet is to watch this game on.....................
internet - check my 1st post closer to kickoff for streams
italian channel - not confirmed yet
greek channel - not comfirmed yet

yer i agree Otto should use his youngsters like ninis and papadopulos!
and i dont think Italy will come out with a full strength side anyway.
Curci will be in goals for Italy - definetely not a full strength side but still a very very strong side, maybe 80% of the full team will be there - should be a good hit out...
wouldnt read too much into the result whichever way it goes
Italy: D'Agostino new Azzurri face Sunday 16 November, 2008
Gaetano D'Agostino is the newcomer for Italy's friendly in Greece, but Alessandro Del Piero and Antonio Cassano are again missing.
Marcello Lippi is eager to use these games to test out new players rather than the on-form Del Piero, who has been in spectacular form recently.
Cassano scored a sensational goal for Sampdoria this afternoon, but does not earn a place even in a friendly encounter.
Simone Pepe and Giuseppe Rossi retain their spots after the most recent World Cup qualifiers and are joined by Udinese midfielder D'Agostino.
A former Under-21 international this is D'Agostino's first senior call-up and extends the Udinese section in the Azzurri squad.
Mauro Camoranesi, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Nicola Legrottaglie and Fabio Grosso return from injury, while Christian Maggio and Riccardo Montolivo are confirmed.
Italy travel to Athens for the friendly with Greece, which kicks off at 19.30 UK time on Wednesday night at the Kariskakis stadium.
Right at the end of the day, dependant on who plays a lower class team, its still a game. A Game that in adelaide means alot to fans across the Greek & Italian community. A match that at the end of the day will deserve bragging rights, and i believe that although Greece have had a bad run after the Euro 04 win, something we can bounce back from. Italy on the other hand are just luck all around. Good luck to Greece, through and through.
Personally i got sentanta at home but ill leave the plasma off this thursday and head down to the Rosemont for this one!!!

Football Is Life, Life Is Greece.
Olympiakara Mou.......
Quite frankly, this game against means absolutely nothing to us because it is a midweek friendly between two big rounds of Serie A against a team which can hardly be described as world class.
any Italian who takes bragging rights from this is a fool. We're World Champions, since when do we need to win meaningless friendlies to claim bragging rights?
