Weldone to Jorden Elsey and Jarrad Maclauglin!! :) GREAT PLAYERS\
Unlucky to Jacob Williams who was over looked by SASI this year. He is a great player very unlucky to not get a call up.

Just saw the 2009 SASI players. Some good players.Radice is a great, gutsy player,Havey also. But Christopher Vounasis!!Watched him this year, not up to SASI standard, didnt even play in the 15's,was called in last minute and replaced a couple of good defenders.Played very poorly in Coffs Harbour.Jordan Elsey! Not bad,but makes you wonder how he can get into SASI when he's a bench player at Para Hills.I spose the fact that his dad is Elvis Markov's trainer would'nt of hurt his chances.I believe SASI,in particular Mr's Markov and Clarke should attend more Junior football games and pick players that are worthy. We have ex players of the calibre like Milan Ivanovic who have to resort to holding clinics to stay involved in the game. The reason people like him are not in the "system" is because he would show most of these so called coaches up. Mr Markov has a lot to answer for after his team finished 9th in Coffs Harbour. And that is out of 12 teams!!There are players fresh out of the game who I've seen train kids,Ritchie Aligich,Ross Aloisi. These are the people we need to train our Juniors.Players who have achieved at national and international level. Not people like Elvis Markov and Noel Clark who struggled at the lowest of state league.Out of the 10 boys listed, maybe 2-3 deserve to be there.I've watch all the players listed since they were young and believe me,there are much better players out there that the state and SASI teams have not even looked at.

I would also like to bring to everyone's attention that our "so called" elite SASI program has and is not working in developing top players.Since 1994,300+ players have gone through this tax payers funded money and does anyone know what the success rate is? Less than 4% of the past and present players are playing in the A-League!!The rest have either given up or playing in our State's Super league. Not a very good record. The FFSA should employ better coaches with expirience at high levels, not people like Dean Stephens who was a tri-athlete come bike rider come state soccer coach who is now the strengh and endurance coach for SASI.Players like McDonald,John Aloisi, the Vidmar brothers,Viduka,Kewell etc..did not go through this so called elite program.Marco Bresciano was dicovered at a high school game!!!As soon as our kids are asked to join the State squad or SASI they are told that it is the only way you will play for the Joey's.Olyroo's etc..and as the statistics show that is simply not the case.As a avid football fan of our state I am just making comments on the facts.I hope for the game and young mens sake that the FFSA and the dept. of sport and Rec wake up and see what is going on.Remember.The people in charge are being paid by us hard working tax payers and all we want is for the kids to be coached by top quality coaches and not people like Elvis Markov,Noel Clarke and the likes. And if you are all wondering,no my son was not left out of or did not make SASI,he is actually in it!!!This is why I am qualified to make comment. As they say.At the end of the day "the cream always comes to the top."

If you know everything about SASI and know all the good talent in SA, right down a few names who you think should be in SASI, because to me you clearly don't have much of a clue about the people who made SASI this year.

To MUFC_9, I think you misunderstood or are not intelligent enough to understand what my 2 posts were about. They were about the way the system is run.Not about players that missed out or got cut or got in,although many are questionable.Do you think that 9th place in Coffs Harbour is a good result? The best thing SASI has done this year is give Elvis Markov the boot as reserve's coach.Lets hope Mr Doyle can do a better job.

I totally agree with 91132 as far as 'how' some lads get into SASI.
personally I think the players that do get in are good, and some are great players, but there are alot of players out there that dont get selected as they are 'outsiders' or may get totally overlooked.
Players with 'connections' will get in to SASI or State Dev squads because of who they are or who their fathers know.
we had a young lad fill in for U17 side this year form the U15's at Para hills, a young lad called Ben, he has never been selected for state dev( apparently him and his brother were best on field in a coulpe of trials) or SASI, but would have to be one of the most solid, skilled and hardest working players I have seen in years, but his dad wasnt in the loop, while we lost a player to SASI, who was good, but not great, and he got in because his brother was in a few yares earlier, and his dad is mates with the coach.
I realise it is impossible for a SASI coach to see every player play season games and 'word of mouth' is their only reference, so I dont know if there is a solution to this predicament, but if trials are going to be held they should have a bearing on selection, and SASI spots should not just be given to 'connected' kids.

I think a lot of people have not understood the facts about the letters that have been sent out. These letters were only an invitation to trial tonight, the boys have not been selected to join SASI. SASI Squad will not be announced until December.

Sir Alex is correct and George Hatzipanagiotis is all class.I am not intent on causing trouble, but why are these boys asked to trail? What about kids that have been in the State squad for a 2 years or more? What about kids that went to Coffs Harbours? Why only a select group?I know some good players who were in SASI this year who have not been asked back. Why?To make room for others, who were recommended by others. Why not hold a big trial and have the people at SASI come out and look at these boys over a period of time?A boy went to Coffs after being in the State squad for 3 weeks!!!Kids missed out who had been there for more than 2 years, and were playing a year above their age at their club! Sorry, but these are the facts and statistics.Kids should make SASI on ability, not because of friendships, who knows who and who's father's are involved as trainer's or any other reason.Anyway, good luck to all the boys.At the end of the day its not their fault that the SASI system is flawed.

mate..obviously something to do with sasi has upset.. didnt u make it.. unluki..
ur a douche bag man.. jordan elsey class aswell.. if he wasnt class why would he be asked to sasi?
think about that..
and just think about what u say about players being "not sasi standards" ok then.. u be the coach and try and pick the players.. obviously u have nooooooooooo idea.. and he doesnt sit on the bench..and stefan carli did not make it..and just on that coaching bit.. it is to my knowledge that elvis has called it quits on sasi..and also how can a trainer make a coach pick his son..doucheeeeee

Arsenal112233,you obviously didnt or could'nt read my post.My son insists on being in this program against my wishes. And Elvis was "asked" to step aside.EX-Coach and dad/trainer might be close?.Anyway,we'll see in years to come who progress and who doesnt.By the way,I refrained from using personal insults, not like you.And also, good luck this year in SASI,even though it wasnt through your own ability that you are there.

Mate, I don't think any of his earlier posts were directed at players. Don't take it personally as I do not believe he meant it to be.

And I have to agree with Rabbit... There are some talented lads out there that do not get a look in. As a Coach - not player or parent - I find that a bit frustrating.
Who?... Who is but a form, followed by the function of what... And what I am, is a man in a mask!
